Who do you want on the Nebrasketball 2014-2015 Schedule?

I really would like to see us schedule some of our old Big 12 teams...Perhaps that Jacob is coming to us from the fine State of Oklahoma, Coach Miles will attempt to hook up with Oklahoma or Oklahoma State???

Miles and Kruger are close, but I doubt that Oklahoma would be all that excited to play both Creighton and Nebraska in the same year, so OU is probably off the table for us for the next couple years.

I think that some of the old Big 8 and 12 schools still aren't that happy with us "leaving" them. So it might be awhile before we get to play them in football or basketball. I could be wrong but that us kind of the vibe I get.

Yet, we have scrimmaged ISU in the preseason.  However, if correct, I would think Texas A & M and Colorado would both be potential opponents.

Colorado is already potentially on the schedule for next year.

 

But I don't get the feeling that even the other 3 that left the Big XII would want to play us.  They all blame Nebraska for "breaking up" the Big XII, whether or not it's rooted in any semblance of fact.

 

Truth is, we will probably need to forget playing any of the current or former Big XII conference teams for the foreseeable future, unless it's in a tourney of some sort IMO.

In all honesty have we hurt our chances to get good teams in here to play us.

1) only one loss here at the vault and that could have been zero losses had the tip gone in.

2) loud home court advantage

3) good team returning

4) voted best place in college basketball.

The one thing that might help is that out RPI will be rather high so some might come because it won't hurt them to lose here like it often did before.

Just the opposite, actually. We're becoming a team that networks will want to pay attention to. Most of the marquee games aren't set up by the teams, they're set up by or in conjunction with the networks. Big time atmospheres will play well on ESPN. Get Dickie V in here, he's already said he wants to. Plus, for at least the next couple of years, losing to Nebraska isn't going to hurt a team's resume. The downside of coming here and potentially losing won't carry the stigma it did a couple of years ago.

Wisconsin (the last game) went to the final 4.  we played our way into the tournament.  we're obviously not a bad loss anymore.

 

a road loss to an ncaa team doesn't hurt your team.  a road win however does you a lot of good.

 

if you've got a legitimately good team, it's a chance to play your way into a really high seed... especially if your conference is a weaker RPI conference than the B1G.

I think you are right about this. That's actually part of the reason why Colorado and Mizzou were 2 of the teams that I suggested, because they left the Big 12 too, so they won't have the same resentment towards Nebraska. And the remaining Big 12 team that I suggested is KState, because they are willing to schedule Nebraska in baseball, so I wouldn't think they would be against scheduling Nebraska in basketball.

I resisted putting Missouri on the list.  I despise the very thought of playing them...in any sport.  The antlers are perhaps the...well never mind.
