This may have been discussed previously, but why didn't we play 13 non-conference games like most everyone else?  Even if we had gone on the road and played a crappy team, it would help our resume.

Would another win would look better even if it hurt our RPI by a couple points?  Say we're 17-10 now instead of 16-10.  We only need the 3 total wins to get to 20.  I think we'll win 3 of our next 5, but getting 4 out of 5 will be tough.

Yeah, it seems like a Gopher win at Richmond is giving them a significant boost to their resume... wonder what happened to NU's thirteenth non-conference game? Maybe a similar matchup failed to materialize for a roadie at the last minute for the Huskers?

Because we played in Charleston, didn't we play the max 12 we were allowed?

I thought the rule now was 29 regular-season games with no in-season tournament or 27 reg-season games with an in-season tournament that can consist of up to 4 games (so up to 31 total games).

So because our in-season Charleston Tournament was a 3-game tourney, that gave us a 30-game limit - 12 non-cons and 18 conf games.

Last year I think we were able to play the max of 31 because the Cip Classic counted as a 4-game tournament.

I also believe you can only play in the same tournament once every 4 years, so we couldn't have another Cip Classic until 2016-17 or couldn't go back to Charleston until 2017-18. I believe that's correct.

Did they change the scheduling rules recently? I always thought the advantage to playing in one of those classics was that it counted as a single 'event'. You could only schedule so many 'events' (games) per season but since the classics are obviously 3 games, you benefitted from doing this since it only counted as 1.

What would the chances of us winning a game at the Pit in Nov-Dec?  2%?

Seems like a pretty good pass before the season and during the season.  [sarcasm]Not sure how Tim Miles was able to check his ego on that.[/sarcasm]

.

That would've been fun to watch. A young team testing their talents out at The Pit.
