Its sounding like if the Huskers lose the series this weekend we will be the 9AM game during the Big Ten Tourny...and if we win we will be the 1PM game.  If the Big Ten was smart they would have had NU play in the evening game regardless of where we ended up in the standings.

Just back from the game.   Not a big crowd, but it was very supportive and enthusiastic.  Good pitching and defense from both teams.  36 wins!

Heading to Haymarket soon to take it in. GBR!

Cheer loud and hard, and bring home a win for us.

I failed miserably!  Would have been better off going to Trumbull and eating barbeque.      The Illini have a good squad.  Best team I have seen in Haymarket this year.  If we win the series it will be a very good accomplishment.

Was in the out field, was that a balk or not, couldn't see for sure. Thought it was from where we are.

Depends on who you ask. There are those who feel strongly that it was, and those who feel strongly it wasn't. Although, there are probably more who think we got the benefit of the call.

At first I thought it was a Balk, But the pitcher did step off back of the rubber and then threw home. Unless his foot hit rubber again after he had stepped off the first time. And that is what they seen but all three must have seen the same thing apparently. This video is similar to what the Illinois pitcher did so I guess it was a balk by this video.

NU still may have a chance to backdoor our way into hosting a regional.  Probably as a #2 seed.  That would be awesome.

I guess it is whoever put in the biggest bidcould host, Nebraska has submitted a bid so guess it is a wait and see thing now.

It's also dependent on how things shake out on the field.  It's possible that NCAA could see Indiana State as a #1 seed and send them to Lincoln for a regional.  That would be best case.

Sounds like no Deleon again this week.  Starting to think we have seen the last of Deleon in a Husker jersey.  It would be a shame because he has gave it all for NU.  Hoping he can somehow make it back to pitch in a regional.

and that is proably what they are looking at. It was mentioned on the radio broadcast last weekend that Deleon's are was getting better though.

Do you think in the worst case senerino that Hirsch would become the fourth starter.

My guess is Hohensee would be the fourth starter.  I think Hirsch has been too valuable out of the pen this year.  Getting excited for the tournament...I won't be able to attend tomorrow's game and my office windows overlook TD Ameritrade so it will be torture for me.

Agree. Colton Howell would probably be next in line. Unless all the sudden Burkamper gets out of the doghouse and gets a try.

I like the Greco kid before Hoensee or Howell, Howell has good stuff but I'm looking at maturity and tanit is where Greco has it and the other two don't IMHO. Greco has went 4 to 5 Innings and is just crafty enough to stay in a game.

I think Greco would probably be the best option...but you have to get to that point to even worry about it so I would hope we use Greco out of the pen if we need him.  If we don't have to burn him some innings then I think he would be our best option.
