atskooc Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Wait, the university is in charge of staffing the arena? Did I read that right? Quote

I am getting extremely excited for this season to start. If Tai and the other new guys turn out to be all they're billing them to be, this is a team that should make some noise this year. The hype so far: Pitchford is a very athletic 6'10" with skills and not raw. Smith is a beefy 6'8" and 250# who's also athletic and skilled. Fuller is a surprisingly good athlete with ++ skills who's a smooth scorer. Petteway is an athletic 6'6" with ++ ball skills who can get to the rim and loves to rebound. Tai Webster is a tall (6'3"-6'4") PG with top 50-level skills and very good athleticism. (That's a starting lineup right there, folks, if the hype is accurate. But, to that we add ...) Biggs is a lightning-quick point who can drive, dish and defend. Hawkins is a great perimeter shooter and has the skills to play point. And last but not least ... Tia Carrere who looks great in a bikini. And that's not just hype. That's fact, Jack. Quote

uneblinstu Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Could have been a negotiated deal to reduce the rent or something along those lines. Univ. provides event staff, city provides building maintenance. Something along those lines. Quote

Handy Johnson Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 Any chance of a Crale Bauer or Bart Kofed sighting? Quote
colhusker Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 Lopers has some mighty fine teams back in the late 70's and early 80's - Just ask Hastings! Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 Lopers has some mighty fine teams back in the late 70's and early 80's - Just ask Hastings! Hastings had some pretty good teams in that period as well. Those games were back alley dog fights. It usally came down to Kearney or Hastings going to KC for nationals at that time. Quote
