Brilliant.

We apparently used football to entice Cincinnati to play us in basketball!  We all knew about the home-and-home basketball series but I didn't realize it was tied to the football series.

We are doing home and home in both sports.  Would love to see more of this!

Duke?  North Carolina? etc!

I am LOVING the way Miles schedules; and whoever came up with this; KUDOS!

It doesn't say that the two were necessarily linked. In other words, it probably just happened to work out this way and I would not think that the football team was "used" to get the basketball teams scheduled. Hopefully by 2020 we will be able to "use" the basketball program to schedule football teams if Tim Miles can work the magic that many on this board expect.

Well the football schedule includes Colorado, Oklahoma, and Tennessee in future years, so maybe they will be added to the basketball schedule. I wouldn't mind seeing Nebraska basketball add these teams, but hopefully they improve a little bit, otherwise they aren't going to help Nebraskas RPI.

Yeah, all those 20-win teams really kill our wonderful RPI:)

True, all 3 of those teams had 20 wins or more this season...but to act like they are consistently 20 win teams that would help Nebraska's RPI, simply because they won 20 games this season is about as accurate as saying that since Creighton was ranked in the top 15 for a few weeks this last season, that makes them a top 15 program in the country.

Tennessee, Colorado, and Oklahoma are all 3 wildly inconsistent programs. Over the last 10 seasons, all 3 have won less than 20 games, more times than they have won 20 games or more. Over that 10 year period, all 3 have had multiple seasons of only 15 wins or less and Colorado has even had a 7-win season and a 9-win season.

I'll not quibble, you may be right. I just thought that the basketball matchups had already been mentioned some time ago. At any rate, when you are my age it is hard to get excited about anything set to occur in 2020 and 2025.

I'll do a batch of pureed salsa for you then, jimmy.  :)

Yeah.  I think they talked about basketball first because the finalized the deal first.  It was a small tidbit that I think most people would ether gloss over or not realize the importance of; which is why I wanted to highlight it.

I think this is a good decision and should be used in the future.

And yeah, 2020 and 2025 is a long ways off.  I hope all of my loved ones will be around for those games but I know there is a good chance they won't be.
