Nebraska pulls out a thrilling win in OT, 74-69, in which Tyronn Lue literally wills his team to a victory at the end.  Great win on the road against a good ISU team.

Iowa State had two on the court with Kelvin Cato and Dedric Willoughby (played 25 games total)

 

Until this game only Kansas had beaten them at home.

Nee had elite 8 recruiting ability.. dude just couldn't coach.  Crazy talent.

Thanks for posting this.   I had to take the time to watch the last few minutes and OT.   Bernard, Mikki, Cookie, Hamilton and Lue the only ones that played in those minutes...pretty decent bunch.   Wow was Lue something.   They mentioned at the end of OT Cookie was only about 50% free throw shooter....one of the many things he got better at throughout his career ( pretty sure he was a FR on the this team).

Watch the last couple minutes of regulation and you get a sense maybe of Nee's coaching, I'm afraid.  Twice Lue hits a three pointer to get us to within one point, and both times someone intentionally fouls, when there was no need to.  Watch the reaction of players like Lue and Cookie and Venson when we do.  It's clear they are upset, and they look at the bench like, "why are we fouling??" Whether Nee told them to or not (in one case it appears that he did), there was clearly a lot of confusion and/or miscommunication going on, where at least some players thought they were supposed to foul.  Very interesting to watch.
