How much weight should be given to a third team Juco All-American ? Who are the eligible all- american voters and  how many of the eligible all-american voters actually see a player in person, on tv or video?  What criteria do they use for selections?  Perhaps  voters come from the national tournament which would only offer a narrow national player sample.

To me, a Third Team D-1 All-American honor has more cred than a Third Team Juco All-American.

It would have been nice to have a big body on the roster.  But chances are he would have been a project as would almost any juco big man would be, especially this late in the season.

Now its M Herbert.

If we fan on him, there is always Beatrice High School.

I do not think Sai Tumalla was as much a project as you think... You point out that he was just a 3rd team AA, but failed to point out he did that as a Freshman.  He is not your typical JUCO player as he spent a year at Michigan, and has 3 years left to play.  He was quoted as being as athletic as Trey Burke... It hurts more than you think or want to admit.  It happens though, and we just have to more on.

Stating the obvious about the third team D-1 All- American comment.

I see a few people saying he's a "big man" and a "project"- Why?  He's 6'7 and appeared to have a good skill set in the videos. I guess he would have probably been used as a 4 from time to time, but I don't think it's accurate to label him a big.

I guess I'm not surprised either.  ASU was a fit and deep down we all knew it.  Hope Timmy can still find what he's looking for!

Said Tummala would have been a great get. He looks to he a good player. I would have loved to have him at Nebraska, but I understand why he made the choice he did. Good luck to him at Arizona State.

This seems like sour grapes/a coping mechanism to me. Why weren't you saying he wasn't any good before he made his decision?

I said a month or so ago that a DI scout told me he was a stretch to play in the Big Ten. Same guy also said Leslee Smith was a great pickup for us. For what it's worth.

If you consider Sai to be a project, then Nebraska will likely never land a player that is polished enough for your standards...

Haha.  He told you? or...He told everyone that was listening to Sharp and Benning that morning? (myself included)
