For old time's sake, it might be fitting for Miles to have a team work-out session (complete with bouncing basketballs and aerobic exercise that looks a lot like basketball practice but isn't) during the open house tonight.

From what I heard they are going to allow the public to shoot hoops during the open house weekend.

Yes. You can shoot baskets. I did it last night. I didn't know how this was going to work but they make you take your shoes off and you can scoot around in your socks. At first I felt weird being the fat guy out there with all the kids but then I inspired some other big kids to come out on the ice.

I'm wondering....do they have multiple floors to lay down for other events (excluding Ice...since we already know that will be there for Disney on ice and other similar events) ? I'm sure Lincoln would hate to lose it being the site every other year for the National Roller Skating Associations annual event...but I'm sure they won't want roller skates going on the basketball court either.

Yes.  Think of a concert.  They don't keep the basketball court down for that.  They remove it.

Off topic to a point...but what has everyone thought of the concert announcements to date? I'm kind of 50/50 split on them.  I think they are great for the arena and great for the city and for anyone that wants to see the bands...however on the flip side there has been no announcement that has really excited me personally. I'm still waiting for the first hard rock/metal concert to be at the arena.

how about this one?

I would assume they would just go with the cement floor for the concerts. OK...on another topic...place rocks! I did run into an areno. She came up behind me and said its an ugly building and a waste of money for a university building. I said it isn't a university building. Other events with be there so its a Lincoln building. She said well its the same thing as Memorial Stadium. Again I corrected her and said the only thing in common is the Huskers will play in both places. I said no one other than the Huskers play at Memorial Stadium. There will be other teams and other activities at the PBA. She huffed and walked away.
