Southern is quick but they turn the ball over too much.  Flowed through our press the last five seconds for an easy bucket.  They are challenging our half court offense with their quickness.

Per Matt Coatney aggressive Jag Defense is keeping the Huskers away from the rim (Pts in Paint: 6 vs 12) but giving up treys (9-14 for Huskers vs 1-6 for Jags) Most of the Husker Treys also getting credited with assists.

Borderline thug ball at times. Saw some pushing and shoving without the ball, but not really a problem.  Weird ref calls too. Just call the fouls please.

 

We do  seem like we're on Xmas vacation a bit.  A step slow. Kind of getting back into a flow somewhat. Giving everyone a chance to play, so there's a little confusion on coverages.

 

Markowski (1,000 pts) and Jazz (3s) both ....hit some big NU record  numbers today.

 

Finish it out girls and we'll watch some championship volleyball

This is a difficult game to watch.  NU was very sloppy in the third quarter and our ball handling against pressure is suspect.  Jaz is the only one creating offense by penetrating which has opened up some threes for others.  Our bigs have missed some cripples.  However, Southern’s defensive pressure should be a good to see what Ohio St and others will bring.

We had 8 days to work on our turnovers after having 24 at Mich. St.  We reduced it by one today with 23 against a not very good team.  I know Amy wanted to keep our starters minutes down some before we play at Kansas on wed. but at times we had severals subs playing poorly.  We still have two players at the 3 that are playing with an efficiency near 0.  Kendall M. with 2 points and 5 turnovers in 14 minutes had an efficiency of -4.

Regarding KM, nothing bounced her way today.  Almost like she was trying too hard.  Hoping she turns things around.  Still a good win.  Glad Stewart knocked a little rust off. I was a little nervous watching her run up and down the court. We need her.

Its not the plus minus that I'm talking about its the  efficiency where her 5 turnovers without any rebounds and only 2 points with one missed fg caused a rare negative rating.
