What I hope I will see:

  • AM - convert possessions under the basket to points - fewer missed layups
  • AS - at least be participating in warm ups
  • NP - roll on, freshman, roll on
  • DW - more drives to the hoop
  • KM - more drives to the hoop
  • JS - be more active - less standing around and more crisp passing and drives to the hoop
  • LN - two or more three pointers
  • Whole Team - more passing to enable mid range shots and fewer 3 pt attempts. No going to sleep on defense.

A big wish list, I know.

We can't beat a team like Georgia Tech without getting a whole lot better play from our three position.  Maybe today it will happen.  It has already cost us two games don't need this to be the third.  Net ratings come out on Monday. GBR.

Pretty sure I remember their coach Fortner from National/Olympic teams several years ago. Pretty experienced and good at what she does. Expect her team to be pretty organized.

GT will be somewhat like us, in size and depth. This is going to be a good game. Hope we're ready right out of the gate

We need to do a better job on the defensive glass. Tech is getting too many opportunities.  We are a little more patient on offense today.  Not too many unnecessary threes.

Down 10 at half.  Only scored 6 points 2nd quarter.  2-13 on threes.  Our offense is stagnant because no one can drive to the basket.  Markowski and Jaz need to be on the floor all the time.  We are playing OK on defense but our lack of perimeter quickness is glaring.

Our shooting percentages are horrible. Their guards are very good at floor play, ball handling, and their guards rebound. We're just getting outplayed in the first half.

Georgia Tech with a buzzer-beater trey to end the Half.
Tech Leads by ten; 32-22.   Outscores the Huskers 20-6 in the 2nd Qtr.

Edit:

Stats Link by Redsteve above is live stats.  Here is a screen-shot of the stats @ Halftime  (still horrible)

Worth Posting the Stats at the end of 3 Qtrs of Play.

Huskers come back to take a 1 point lead at the end of the third qtr.  (they were down by as much as 15 points in the 2nd Qtr)

Wow...stink in the first half, our heads were on vacation, (where have we seen that before).... and we're like the complete opposite the second half. How can we be so different in a half's time?

Haven't seen different half's like that in a long time.

The freshmen did us well. Coley had some real good shots when we needed them to stay in the game.

Offense won the game as we were less than stellar on defense. I think Kendall Coley’s quick 5 points in the third quarter keyed the rally.  Good shooting was contagious.  58 points in the 2nd half was a result of good shot selection and hot shooting, which go hand in hand.

Lady Huskers come back BIG :Shout: from 15 points down in the 2nd Qtr to defeat Georgia Tech by 8 points (80-72) in an up and down game.

  • 1st Qtr - Huskers by 4 points
  • 2nd Qtr - All GA Tech who outscored Huskers 20-6
  • 3rd Qtr -  All Huskers who came back to take a 1 point lead
  • Lead extended by the Huskers in the 4th Qtr to seal the Win:  80-72 :Hooray:

Whew, What a Game!!! :Timeout:

We have had 4 starters consistently in the 15 to 20 range for efficiency for the first 8 games.  Efficiency is defined by (pts+rebounds+assists+steals+blocked shots-to-ft missed-fg missed) / # games.  We finally had another player in Logan N. at least for this game join the double digit efficiency with an 11.  Could ultimately be our missing 3 player.

I just got home from the game, And defense won the day. When the Huskers went zone the game was there for the taking, and they did.

Here are the +/- the game.

Agree.  Great coaching move by Amy and crew.  Appears there was much more team energy as well.
