12dozen Posted January 14, 2023 Author Report Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) Coley hasn't played much lately. Is this just a result of Coach giving minutes to the starters? Or, is something else going on? She seemed to play well, the few minutes she was on the court recently. Edited January 14, 2023 by 12dozen Neb Nets 1 Quote

I don't think the starters minutes have increased as of late, I think as Maggie M. has joined the team she cuts into some of Kendalls time as they now have five healthy forwards/posts. I did see her play a little at the three position against Penn State. 12dozen 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Today is about turnovers. IF we keep them low we have a chance. If we continue at our current rate we will get boat raced. Quote
Neb Nets Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Unrelated to today’s OSU game, but just sitting here watching Iowa WBB looking like a WNBA team against Penn St. Don’t know about you, friends, but I’m pretty much dreading our upcoming matchup(s) against Iowa And Bluder still has Clark in the game halfway through the 4th while up by 43 Quote

Back in October, I was hoping/expecting this to be Coley’s breakout season. Still waiting. Still hoping… Red Don 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 I am dreading the rest of this Ohio St game. We are outmatched and out classed. Neb Nets, huskerchode and NUtball 1 2 Quote
12dozen Posted January 14, 2023 Author Report Posted January 14, 2023 Looks like the top 6 teams in the B1G are clearly better than the rest. We might be competing for 7th (and I like our chances). Cazzie22 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Wow! Ohio St is so much quicker at every position. We look like a JV team. NUtball 1 Quote
redsteve Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) O State is about two step steps quicker, but we're getting up to speed. We like the speed game too. They're just so deep with quickness and shooting skills. May be one of the most aggressive teams we've seen this year.. Easy to see why they're #3 Edited January 14, 2023 by redsteve Cazzie22 and Neb Nets 2 Quote
Red Don Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) Seems like OSU is a really smothering defense; Double & Triple Teams, all our shots under the basket are contested. Edited January 15, 2023 by Red Don Cazzie22 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Our post players have no moves when they get the ball inside. We are very stagnant on offense. Too much standing around. huskerchode 1 Quote
redsteve Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) Just checked on Ohio St center. She 23..(at least that's what the OSU site says), and played on her Slovakian National Teams for about three years before coming to the US to be a freshman in college. Started playing on national teams in about 2016...that would make her about 15 or 16 then Played for the club team Piestanske Cajky for three seasons in the highest league in Slovakia. Helped her team win the Slovakian Cup in 2017 and finish runner-up in the Central Europe women’s league. Edited January 14, 2023 by redsteve Red Don and Cazzie22 1 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Good effort to be only ten down. 12dozen 1 Quote
huskerchode Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Somehow, we’re still hanging around in this. I’m impressed with Hake, and I thought MM lifted us with a couple of buckets and an assist or two. AM seemed to play a little better after that. Red Don, 12dozen, mwm89 and 1 other 4 Quote

12dozen Posted January 14, 2023 Author Report Posted January 14, 2023 For the 3rd ranked team in the nation, they sure do whine a lot (coaches included). redsteve 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 I have to eat some of my words. The girls have picked it up on the defensive end and are matching the aggression of the Buckeyes. Still worry about our sloppy turnovers but we have a good chance if we can keep this level of play. Red Don, huskerchode and mwm89 2 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Not a good ending to the 3rd quarter. I doubt we can come back from a 12 point deficit. Our inability to hit free throws is dumbfounding. mwm89 1 Quote
mwm89 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 The effort is there but the execution not as much. OSU is just shooting the ball better, and their overall team quickness advantage is making it challenging for us. Keep fighting ladies! Though it's not looking good now. GBR!! Red Don 1 Quote
mwm89 Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Yeah we just need to shoot free throws better. Gals get into the gym and shoot. Quote
