but it makes sense.  He said one thing he has noticed this year is the teams that have been together for a couple years (i.e., Missouri) and have a bunch of upper classmen are doing better than teams with either more talented young guys or teams with equal talent but just put together (i.e., Nebraska).  Said the lack of early games and gym time is really showing up this way.

This thread would probably be better suited for the Haymarket Hardwood board rather than the recruiting board, IMO.

 

But of course Sunvold is right.  The best strategy in college sports has always been "get old and stay old", and I'm sure that is even more important this year.  It sucks that it just so happens that the Big Ten is possibly, across the board, the oldest collection of teams in maybe the history of college athletics.  It's uncanny.

It would be true even if we had all of our players available from Day One. It's that much more difficult when players are trickling in a quarter or a third of the way through the season. I hope we can just find a way to win a game or two through the first 10-game conference stretch, and then shoot for .500 in the back half..
