Wasnt sure where to post this (so feel free to move it wherever it belongs) but in an OWH article Miles said the new offensive philosophy is threes, lay ups, and free throws. He doesnt want to see a lot of mid range jumpers. That is odd bc idk if we have the shooters from deep for that. Also, our 4 best players all have a pretty good mid range game right?

That is the direction the game is going, or has been for a while.  If you look at a shot chart after a game for most teams and you will see a lot of shots behind the arc and near the hoop.  It's fun to go back and look at games before the 3 point arc was added.  The spacing on the floor was very different.  You look back and wonder why more teams didn't zone.

I know the NBA is like that and has been for a couple years. Honestly, i dont watch college aside from the Huskers so wasnt really sure if that style of play had seeped down to the college game yet.

That's just straight out of the analytics playbook.  A trey is worth 1.5 times what a regular FG is worth.  If the percentages from 17 feet are only slightly better than the percentages from 20'9", then it probably doesn't make a lot of sense to take the 17 footer.  Either step in closer and get a higher percentage look, or back out a few more feet and make the payoff better.

So trying to figure out the rotation ill just leave some takeaways from game one:

- Tanner was first off the bench, followed by Nana/Thor, and then Amir/Brady

- Thor and Brady played the most minutes off the bench (21), followed by Amir (18), and Tanner and Nana (13)

- Thor, Amir, and Brady were the players that the walk ons were plugged in with to play at the very end

My guess is Nana and Tanner are in the top 7 rn. Amir and Thor are still competing for the eight spot in the rotation. As for Brady, I could see the rotation being extended to 9 guys if he proves that he can regularly help this team.

Looks like the rotation is basically set. Nana as a sub at the 2 or 3 and tanner as the first big off the bench. Brady mixing it at times.  w harris playing for a spurt in the first half. Still wish we had one more shooter or ball handler off the bench but doesn’t look like that’s in the cards this year.

Yep. Looks like Nana and Tanner will get 10-15 a game each. Amir is getting 5-10. Brady gets in if its a blowout or Roby is in early foul trouble. Thor is riding the pine at the moment with Trueblood and Costello.
