Can anyone really think this program (win/loss) is in any better shape now than under the last year of Barry Collier?

Miles has the benefit of a new practice facility and new arena and the results are the same. (Should make the NCAA tourney or Nit every year)

This program cannot afford to lose players early, when they do not go to the NBA, he has lost Terran,Walt and White.

This is the worst shooting team in NU history.

Not being able to get any of the top Nebraska kids (No excuses) two at Creighton and one at Omaha.

Yes, I think this program is in better shape than Collier's last year.

Collier had one of the worst non conference schedules in Nebraska history his last year.  Had 2 games away from Lincoln, lost both.  Also, lost to UAB at home.  We still only managed to go 10-3 with that schedule.

Our returning team, consisted of Maric, McCray (who was suspended for half the season), and White with a few role players.  We were going to struggle again the following year with Barry or Doc.

I'm not saying Miles is the guy, or not.  But, to pretend this team is worse off than Collier's last year is somewhat untrue.

Barry Collier's last team won 19 games and made it to the NIT. Roster include Marics, Wilkinson, Dourisseau, McCray, White, Marcus Walker, B.J. Walker, Marcus Perry and Paul Velander. Somehow, Collier gets made out to be some giant villain in Husker basketball, and I don't get it. Exactly in what way was Doc a better recruiter? How is Miles better developing players? Did he have the support and facilities that TM does?

Does there have to be a villain all the time, or can we accept that this is a tough place to win?

Yes they won 19 games against the cream puffs of schedules.  The following year, Doc won 18 games playing the same schedule and got no invitation.  I think our rosters are pretty similar.  Our team now has more talented depth, than we did at that time.

Seemed about like a normal non-conference for the past many years.  They beat Marquette a 20 game winner and eventual NCAA team.  Their losses weren't bad.  UAB won 24 games and made the tournament.  Then both Florida State and Creighton were on the road.  Both won 20 games and made the NIT.  That team was also in the NCAA conversation.  But like many Nebraska teams couldn't get the win.

McCray wasn't returning.

Anyway, I would call it a wash.  Depending on what happens for the rest of this year.
