jimmykc Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 We scheduled South Dakota for a home game on Dec. 3. This is a nice thing for Craig Smith who has nothing to lose. Maybe coach Miles should let coach Molinari handle this one to make it even more interesting. PimpMario 1 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Shouldn't struggle with this one. SD has a good player or two, but with our talent and depth we should win going away. This coming season, we simply cannot struggle against teams like this in our pre-Big Ten schedule. Quote
49r Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 They beat Minnesota in Minneapolis last year, and took Creighton to double overtime two years ago in Omaha. This has trap game written all over it, IMO. Red Don and Silverbacked1 2 Quote
hhcmatt Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 It will help with school still in session. I'm going to wait for the rest of the schedule to officially declare my trap game of the year. I wonder who South Dakota will have open their new arena? Quote

I wonder who South Dakota will have open their new arena? Not Nebraska. There is chatter from Miles himself that Nebraska could play up in SD at some point, but Tim didn't indicate whether it would be against USD. Quote

Four NCAA Division I men’s basketball teams will visit the Sanford Pentagon for an early season event in November. South Dakota State University; the University of California, Irvine; East Tennessee State University; and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, all 20-win teams last season, are part of the Sanford Pentagon Showcase Nov. 25-27. The three-day event uses a round-robin format with two games each day... The Pentagon has hosted eight Division I men’s basketball games since opening in 2013. Programs like Wisconsin, St. John’s, UNLV, Iowa State and Minnesota have played in the venue in front of national TV audiences on ESPN and the Big Ten Network. http://www.sanfordpentagon.com/news_article/show/655290?referrer_id=898473 Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Can it be both? A favor to them and a trap game to us? AuroranHusker 1 Quote
Minnesota_Husker Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Is this the game that starts the hot seat for Miles and the Hire Craig Smith train? Silverbacked1 1 Quote
