Wisconsin, close to naming a new head coach?

Jonathan Tsipis, the women’s basketball coach at George Washington University, has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed Bobbie Kelsey as coach of the University of Wisconsin women’s basketball team, according to multiple sources.

A source with the university said that no action on the position is expected until after the UW men’s basketball season ends.

Other possible candidates that had surfaced since Kelsey was fired on March 4, include Courtney Banghart of Princeton, Katie Abrahamson-Henderson of Albany and Kevin Borseth of UW-Green Bay.

kevin borseth? don't know about that one. i'd be pretty shocked if he took the job-----going by his short stint at michigan. he seemed pretty happy going back to green bay. didn't sound like he really enjoyed coaching at that level. ya never know...

btw, ya wanna talk "eye candy"? look no further than the omaha mavericks wbb! and a young good coach, too!

Wisconsin expected to name Jonathan Tsipis new coach this week.

The Executive Committee of the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents will hold a teleconference Tuesday to approve contracts for new coaches to lead the UW men’s hockey and women’s basketball programs.

Jonathan Tsipis is expected to be announced later this week as the seventh coach, and the first man, to lead the women’s basketball program as it enters its 43rd season.

He has a good resume, with some asst. experience with good coaches. Known as good recruiter. Might be a good hire for Wisky.

It's taken 2 months to find coach. He's really going to have to start at the bottom. Have no idea where they're on 2016 or 17 recruits, but it's pretty much start all over probably.

Wisky apparently isn't to worried about a time table to get they're women's BBall act together.

Wisky announced the hire several weeks ago.  This article just discloses the pay.  Wiscy actually made its hire prior to NU making its hire.

here's what i found for recruits:

tsipis first signee: Van Leeuwen from Ontario 5'10" combo guard (member of U17 team and in consideration for U18 team)

from Kelsey: Gabby Gregory 5'8" guard 4* #44 by hoopgurlz

Abby Laszewski 6'3" F #75 by hoopgurlz

Courtney Fredrickson 6'2" F from minnesota

Suzanne Gilreath 5'5" guard from minnesota

Alona Johnson 5'5" guard from wisconsin

Grace Mueller PF from wisconsin

read a few articles on suzanne gilreath over the past hs season. i wouldn't be shocked if she turns out to be a little smaller version of romeo. she can be a deadly 3 point shooter.

also should add, i did not see any comments about any of the recruits asking for a release. looked in the badgers "news" section but did not come across anything there.
