BOULDER – Tre’Shaun Fletcher and Kenan Guzonjic will not return to the University of Colorado men’s basketball team for the 2016-17 season, head coach Tad Boyle announced Wednesday.  Both are in good standing with the university and the Colorado coaching staff, but have opted to transfer out of the program.

“After meeting with Kenan and Tre’Shaun individually, both felt they would be best served by finishing their collegiate careers elsewhere,” Boyle said. “We wish them nothing but the best moving forward in their careers.”

Fletcher, a 6-foot, 7-inch guard/forward, averaged 7.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 2015-16. He was fourth on the team with 35 3-point field goals as a junior and hit 83 percent from the free throw line. A native of Wilmar, Ark., Fletcher averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 88 career games.

Guzonjic, a 6-8 forward, played in 13 games as a first-year Buffalo, averaging just over four minutes an outing. Eight of his appearances came during the nonconference schedule, including an eight-point, five-rebound game against Hampton. A native of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Guzonjic spent his first collegiate season at Midland Junior College in Texas.

Colorado finished the 2015-16 season at 22-12 overall and placed fifth in the Pac-12 Conference at 10-8. The Buffaloes advanced to their 14th NCAA Tournament and fourth in the past five seasons.

Man... I'd throw Doyle an offer immediately.  I was always pretty impressed with him, but he didn't fit UM that well.  He's 6'9" 250, and he carries it well (strong not fat).

Obviously, best case would be that we already have a couple of 5s, but I've seen that kid log quality minutes.

Also, I agree that this is a great statement from Beilein who is an excellent coach and person.

Seeing a lot of Transfers,  how soon before we start to see where all these guys are transferring to?  Do we have a shot at any of them?  Who would we want? Who would be probably not want? Guess that last question might be a little iffy if any of them or their connections have any connection to the board, but still asking. I honestly don't pay a lot of attention to anything out side of our team and who we are playing (part of the reason I never fill out a bracket).

This is going to be mostly an exercise in futility as the matrix of players we want/players interested in us isn't guarantee to actually landing a player.

Do want!

44% from three; 50.5% from the field overall.  More than half of his attempts are 2 pointers, of which he hits about 56%.  Nearly 9 boards/game.

Immediately eligible if he graduates.

Tim, please get involved with this one.  Please.

OK, maybe he'd go to Vanderbilt, but maybe not.

Lol...thanks for an honest answer at least. :)
