Nebraska was bad last year and lost basically everyone outside of Shavon Shields. Tim Miles welcomes a good recruiting class, but it’s not that good. And yes, there’s incoming Kansas transfer Andrew White. But White was pretty much glued to the bench in Lawrence. The “Kansas is Loaded!” argument doesn’t do much for me in that regard, either. Sure, there’s no shame in playing behind Andrew Wiggins. But Jamari Traylor and Brannen Greene got more playing time. I don’t think we have quite an Alex Legion situation here, but I’ll be surprised if White ends up being a top Big Ten performer, rather than just an adequate starter.

The Huskers are at least a year away from sniffing the bubble

Seems fair.

Also seems like he didn't spend a whole lot of time researching Nebraska, but again in his defense who outside of Husker fans would?

Tuesday Recap: A 3-3 Split for the Big Ten Leaves Door Open for ACC - BT Powerhouse

http://www.btpowerhouse.com/2015/12/2/9834014/big-ten-tuesday-recap-acc-challenge-maryland-north-carolina-purdue-michigan

Nebraska 72, No. 21 Miami 77 (OT)

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have been one of the more interesting teams in the Big Ten during the season's first month. Nebraska seems to have some similarities to the squad from a couple of years ago that qualified for the NCAA Tournament, as they have been high-quality opponents, but have yet to close out one of these games. Tuesday night was the second example within the span of a week as a ranked Miami team was able to pull out a victory in overtime. Shavon Shields exploded for 28 points, but suffered from an apparent calf cramp and was not on the floor in the key moments of the extra five minutes. The Hurricanes' Davon Reed made his lone jump shot, a 3-pointer, in a 1-for-10 shooting effort in overtime giving Miami the lead for good. Nebraska now hits its soft spot in the schedule with a chance to rack up a handful of wins before conference play starts.

Yeah, soft spot in our schedule with games against Kenpom #57 Creighton on the road and #41 Rhode Island at home.  Cupcakes.  (More like bran muffins.)

2015-16 Week Four Big Ten Basketball Power Rankings: Wisconsin Badgers Rise - BT Powerhouse

#9 - Nebraska Cornhuskers (112 Points)

The Huskers continued the "season of almost" last week with a narrow loss to a very good Miami (Fl) team at home in overtime and a win over Abilene Christiana on Saturday. Nebraska has taken care of all its weaker opponents and a decent Tennessee team, but has failed to close the deal against very good Cincinnati and Miami (Fl) teams. This week, Nebraska has a tough challenge with Creighton on the road and Rhode Island at home. If Nebraska can even find a way to split, it would help their postseason goals tremendously.

2015-16 Week Five Big Ten Basketball Power Rankings: Steady At The Top - BT Powerhouse

#9 - Nebraska Cornhuskers (113 Points) --

The Huskers had a nice week for the team despite only going 1-1 in its two games. On Wednesday, Nebraska was handled pretty easily on the road against Creighton, but responded by knocking off a pretty solid Rhode Island team at home. Both opponents are probably better teams than Nebraska and to add at least one more quality non-conference win to the resume is a big deal. Nebraska is just 7-4 overall and making the NCAA Tournament would require some substantial improvement, but if the team can take care of business against Samford and Prairie View A&M, there's a decent chance Nebraska enters Big Ten play without a bad loss.

Big Ten Basketball Power Rankings: December 15th, 2015 - Maize and Brew

8. Nebraska (7-4)

Last Week: at Creighton (L, 67-83); Rhode Island (W, 70-67)

Nebraska's outside shooting has improved drastically this season, not that it could have gotten much worse. Last season, the Huskers were 340th in three-point shooting, knocking down only 28.4 percent of their triples. This season, they are 88th, having drilled 37.1 percent of their threes. This jump should be attributed to three newcomers: Kansas transfer Andrew White and freshmen Glynn Watson and Jack McVeigh. All three have made at least 40 percent of their threes, and they have combined to connect on 48-of-115 threes (41.7 pct.). The trio didn't fire many threes on Sunday in Nebraska's game against #50 Rhode Island, but it made 3-of-4 in the Huskers' biggest win of the season.
