what a difference a season can make. with AZB and a healthy banham, along with wagner, minnesota was looking at a special season. now, i would group them in the bottom third of the league and will not expect them to make tourney.

Last season's NCAA RPI for this season's non-conference opponents (Minnesota's RPI was 44): HOME GAMES: 315-Wofford 294-NJIT 245-Towson 185-Memphis 180-North Dakota 110-New Mexico 97-Maine ROAD GAMES: 290-Kent State 151-Auburn 72-Stetson 15-Duke uffda---banham (if she comes back healthy) and wagner should be enough to carry them through that schedule, except for Duke---maybe auburn will be interesting. gophers will have to do a lot of damage in the BT if they are looking at even a chance at ncaa's.

"plans to rejoin the team"?---to me, that statement says she has left the basketball program. it would be so much wiser to hold back any comments till this thing is over. what's that saying? "sometimes things take on a life of their own"? you know, once the snowball starts down the hill.... when i think about it, at this period of time, how would someone even think they could get away with some of the allegations? at some point, guess we will find out.

Ex-Husker qualifies for the 16' Brazil Olympics

http://lovewomensbasketball.com/2015/03/02/serbia-naturalizes-american-forward-danielle-page/ trying to find it, but, thought i read where she will have dual citizenship. -
ouch. ouch. ouch. wonder how long this will get dragged out? illinois may not have a choice but to name an "interim" head coach until this is over. which will lead to...... can you imagine the bollant preseason, game day, post game interviews???

i wouldn't classify this as "burning" a schollie, just to get the record straight. i believe when you look at the incoming class along with the current players, coach Yori had a bit of a luxury to do this. at this time in the program, why not? i am sure this was well thought out by coach Yori. she will have that schollie after this season. just kind of explains it right there. as far as the "foot-drama" mentioned by huskerchode, i would really be surprised if this pops up---especially with the magnitude it did last season. either coach yori and the staff concluded it was just an unfortunate coincidence it happened to so many, or, they have/will make some adjustments to help prevent this from happening again.

maybe someone that knows the history of the women's game can help with a question: are there any examples out there where an athlete (women's) has participated in her primary sport for 4 yrs and stepped in and made a contribution participating in another sport with her 5th yr? re: wbb not trying to stir anything up, i just remain cautiously optimistic. playing DI wbb is a different animal---especially when you haven't played (wbb) at this level. i do believe her joining the team is a "win/win" situation for all, but, i guess we'll just have to wait and see how things develop. like some others have stated, if she does contribute, it will be on the defensive side of the ball (and, obviously, on the practice floor). it's fantastic what she has accomplished in the sport of volleyball!!! congratulations to her and wish her and the husker volleyball team the best in the upcoming season! GBR!

maybe someone knows more about this than i do and can comment---everyone is talking about jess, and somewhat rachel. i can only go by what i have read about clark's procedure, but, does anyone else think she may be the biggest question mark of the three known injuries? i am sure, in jess's case it is about what she brings to N, and, we all know rachel's game, but, i just wouldn't be shocked if clark isn't able to help much. i hope i am wrong----but, like i said, wouldn't surprise me. we will find out.

speaking of "bigs", thought i would ask about 6'4"Sydney Cook from Wisconsin. i know she is the class of 2017, but, curious if there has been any husker buzz about this player. seems to me there was some past mention of her and that she may have showed some interest in Nebraska. the last time i read one bio, it appears she is drawing interest from the "elite" of college women's bb, but, with her being in that big ten footprint, sure would like to get her to visit Lincoln. i have seen her rated as high as #3 to #16 (i believe if you go by position, she is rated very near the top).

thoroughly enjoyed watching 'T' as a husker! especially her defense. the minnesota game this year at PBA was one of her best, imo. if there is a criticism, from my point of view, T's offense was rather streaky (re: jump shot and 3pt'ers). she sure could beat someone to the hoop, though!!! will be fun to watch how Mi'cole develops. i would bet it's rather quickly.

well, not sure a transfer coming from wisconsin is a real big surprise---re: past discussion of wiscy's program.

it would have really been nice for jess to get a year under her belt with cady and sample's leadership, but, it is what it is. still, it is really nice to have rachel for one more year and should help jess, for one, tremendously. going to be a really interesting season---------------lotsa youth to develop.

i'd put $ on stanford.

i am not real familiar with micro fracture knee surgery. here's an article about Stoudemire's experience:http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/21/amare-stoudemire-regrets-microfracture-surgery-had-it-only-because-he-didnt-know-what-it-was/ just a little comment on theroit. think her surgery was a little more extensive than i had imagined. i believe she had some foot problems her freshman year? wonder if she had that foot give her problems off and on and played on through---finally it gave on her? either way, hope she is 100% for the upcoming season!

just hate this crap. although, have no problem with 4 quarters. the biggest problem with the game are all the timeouts. takes away from the flow of the game!!! why don't the schools just remodel for a half-court game and leave it at that. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
i didn't know Calhoun's transfer was in the makes right after the first of the year. evidently, Duke was not a good fit for her---whether from the point of bb, or, just the school itself. that's an awful nice "get" for osu. should allow osu to really make some noise on the national scene. especially during mitchell's jr and sr season. easily should be top 10 team---maybe put them around the top 5. just got a feeling guff is going to bring in MAA's more often than not. hate to say it, but, i could see maryland and osu being the cream of the crop in the big ten---especially the next 3-4 yrs. although, i have stated before i think maryland will always be in the running as long as frese remains there. no doubt other big ten teams have their work cut out for them.

sure would like to see Nebraska get in line, and, appears to be quite a line. looking at the schools in the quote, there should be no reason at all why 'N' shouldn't be there! (unless she has already said "not interested")

Missouri Valley Player of the Year joins Huskers
whoopdeedoo replied to trickey's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
i was going to post the same question about Shepard and Theroit. my gut tells me "no news is good news". do not forget O has only 1 year to try and make an impact. no doubt odds are against her (in many ways). wish her all the best, but, got a big hill to climb (imo). -
totally agree with coach Versyp and HB on the "half court" nonsense. don't like the 24 second clock, either. imo, i could only see this benefiting your best player(s). just let them handle the ball.
-
this would be a very nice get. according to her list, all west coast but N. don't like to be pessimistic, but, if you stack her comments and list together, think N might be the longshot. sure would like to be proven wrong, though. to me, sounds like she really wants to stay out thatta way. my gut tells me Stanford, Oregon St, and Washington lead the list.

myah selland, 6' 2"---believe she is from woonsocket, sd. getting to be quite a bit of chatter about this gal. will play a tournament for North Tartan out of mpls this summer, but, will play summer ball with sd team. read some interesting comments about her---before she is done, she could be a girls bb player the likes of sd hasn't seen. another comment said she can play ANY spot on the floor. another comment said she will have her choice of schools (including "larger")---well, may be a bit of a stretch, but.... appears she has an offer from sdsu for now, but, expectations are she is going to get some "big time" looks. just found that interesting. who knows how it may turn out for her, but, thought maybe this could be a gal worthy of husker eyeballs.

things may take a drastic turn, but, i believe the odds now point to bollant surviving this. at first, i wondered how he could---and with the asst now gone, it most likely helped his situation.
