i'm probably one of the few that don't get the "dunking" thing. i prefer to be more impressed with the "skill" side.
-
something tells me she probably won't have a problem gathering a list of potential replacements.
-
well, crap. not the best timing, but, guess there never really is. in the words of HB, need a HR hire. would be nice not to have this drag out.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/christinebrennan/2015/03/18/womens-basketball-ncaa-tournament-final-four-schedule/24990741/ have always wondered why the women's tournament was up against the men's.

ditto----ditto again!!!

you might be talking about shae kelley? she really came on the 2nd half of the season. the athleticism was always there, but, i read where she had made a decision she needed to "pick things up" halfway through. no doubt they will miss her. btw, i believe she was listed at 6'1". with azb gone, minny could be VERY small next season. they do have a 6'5" gal on the roster but i read she is very raw. they do have a 6'1" wing coming in from canada. i would have to believe stollings is scrambling for some height. otherwise, think their roster is full of 5'9" guards. although "full" is probably not the correct term for the time being.

http://www.swishappeal.com/2015/4/7/8358009/proposed-ncaa-rule-changes-met-with-conflicting-opinions-by-coaches think the only one that really concerns me would be the shorter shot clock. have to believe that one would affect many offenses (as stated).

http://prospectsnation.com/story/top-seniors-available the player from texas that has been linked to cinci has still not signed.

huh. rather surprised. i thought when banham announced she was returning for her final year, AZB was part of the package. i'm not sure i would call her "overrated"---i just didn't think stollings managed her very well---at times. Stollings managed her well by playing a zone. Zahui fouls. A lot. kinda what i was hinting at. didn't think the minny staff did a very good job with the "fouling" part of her game. at times, azb would develop an attitude during the game and get herself in trouble. also seems to be some discussion amongst some gopher fans concerned about this being the 6th player leaving the program. stems from stollings being named interim head coach while an assistant at NMSU. took over for a dismissed Nikita Lowry (head coach). Lowry was put in a different position within the athletic dept. all from an investigation of player abuse. most of the players threatened to quit if she remained coach. now, Lowry is assistant and recruiting director under stollings. i can see where it might raise some questions when you have that many leave your program.

huh. rather surprised. i thought when banham announced she was returning for her final year, AZB was part of the package. i'm not sure i would call her "overrated"---i just didn't think stollings managed her very well---at times. uh. just was thinking---don't think banham would be ready for the wnba this season anyway (if she would have declared). would have to look, but, think that leaves minny without a post player for next season. at least one with any experience. plus, shoots my minny pick for top 3 next season. it just might have them staring at being a "bubble" team.
-
if AZB remains silent, should be many a nervous fan in minny for awhile. although, i did read where some don't take michelle smith too seriously. IF she decided to go to WNBA, wonder if Banham might have second thoughts on her decision to return to minny? losing AZB would be HUGE---losing AZB and Banham would just be a killer. would she be #1 pick? think she would be in top 3.

whoopdeedoo replied to Fastbreaker's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
thanks, HB. i was just thinking, since this is a first offense, that it would be at the coach's discretion on any type of punishment? -
actually, would love to see havers reach that 10-12 pts/game---if her playing time takes a big bump. i totally agree with mckewon when he stated that chandler has "high level instincts". nat, nat, nat-----

http://www.omaha.com/huskers/mckewon-husker-women-s-basketball-team-has-potential-to-narrow/article_af96135e-1c2d-5140-8807-a5f7308c5358.html for starters, 2 things where i expect to see improvement: allie havers 4.9 pts/game, and chandler smiths offensive production (which was pretty abysmal when looking at the stats). granted, she was slowed by the injury, but, i really expect chandler to make strides her sophomore season.
-
no doubt. their offense really came together this year.
-
i only watched most of the first half, and let me say, yes, baylor is good------but, geez, iowa defense stinks.
-
actually, think there would be a pretty long line ready to do the same thing!
-
i really didn't have a problem with coach's comments before the players approached the "cut-out". what happened then is rather childish, imo. no argument here from her coaching record. i have stated previously on another post that IF Geno would happen to resign in the very near future, i'd be willing to bet her name would be thrown in the hat for the position. it's been stated she is one of the best motivators in women's college bb.

believe minny will have 1 freshman incoming, and 2 jucos. they also have allina starr transferring from auburn. 5'9" guard. she is already in school and i think she is eligible for next year's big ten season (not ooc). she has 3yrs of eligibility. i also think the one's that are leaving are Borton recruits. so, not too shocking that many have left. don't think it's Stollings so much, as it seems they are really on board with her. you would hope the new coach didn't run them out, though. i still think minny is going to be pretty tough next season---as long as banham returns as banham. a little more info: juco Kynadi Johnson, 6'1" Forward from ButlerCC avg 3pts per game. played hs ball in Dallas. juco Keyondra Jenkins 5'6" guard chose minny over arizona, michigan state, and west virginia. averaged 16pts, 4.6 assists, and 3 steals. the freshman is from canada and had a 4* rating. believe she is a 6'1" wing.
-
i didn't see it, but, evidently, bho must have picked against them? yep, minny had that awkward "ticket" punching episode. i wish espn would knock off the pregame locker room crap. there is absolutely nothing of value gained by those moments (for the viewers).
-
definitely something to be concerned about. kansashusker makes a point. i did forget about Washington. you state in your comment she is "really fast, and strong". if true, as i know absolutely nothing about her game, it could be possible she fills the role that Sample leaves vacant.
-
for next year, i don't think they will be able to replace Sample's defense---at least you won't see it right away. i know nothing about Rachel Blackburn, but, just off the top of my head, she would be my guess that could become the defensive leader eventually. just from what i have read, Simon seems to lean more towards the offensive side of the ball? one thing that strikes me, is that Allie seems to struggle gathering the ball in a crowd. rather soft hands. easy to have the ball knocked away. would like to see her work on squeezing that orange!

best of luck to Lindsey!
