would like to see KC get some opportunities tonight---see if she can find that rhythm from the perimeter.
-
i noticed in the North Florida Ospreys win, their junior point guard (Claire Ionaddidas sp?) from Melbourne, Australia scored almost half of their points (29). they appear to bring similar height that APB had. VERY nice win by the huskers. i figured around a 30+ point win, but, wow. it was nice to see nat resumed her stroke with her father in attendance. when i turned on matt and jeff, it sounded like she may be a question mark (due to illness during the week).
-
checking out their roster. if i read things correctly, not bringing too much height. 1 player at 6' 2" (jr), 1 player listed at 6' 1" (sr), and 2 listed at 6' 0" (1 jr and 1 fr). not sure how much experience. nebraska definitely will have advantage there. i would bet APB will be bringing some athleticism with the squad. will probably have to collapse on jess---don't think they will try and leave her 1-on-1. would be very surprised if fans don't see another big game out of jess. hope perimeter game starts to come around.
-
one thing i would bet on, fans should see a higher number of 3's taken this game. will give the shooters an opportunity of getting into a shooting rhythm, and, let post players work on offensive rebounding-----or, maybe not if you know what i mean.

impressive--------very impressive! GBR!
-
sorry-----had to chuckle a bit reading this but, smart move by rb43--------very smart! (btw, not chuckling about the elbow to the lip---ouch )
-
as soon as i saw that pic of rb43 ('the look') on huskers.com, i shook my head up and down, and said to myself, "it's going to be a fun season!!!" GBR!
-
yikes! not sure what happened! ^^^ anyway, great news about jess! hopefully cincore won't be too much longer!

"Johnson told Inside Indiana earlier this week that she liked just about everything about Indiana, from the academics to the apparel." "the apparel"?!? well, i guess if that's important to ya. (stated somewhat tongue-in-cheek)

university of illinois trying to get lawsuit thrown out... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-illinois-basketball-lawsuit-20151021-story.html

yes, should have added a sidenote stating that the possibility of seeing those three on the floor at the same time is almost nil. just something fun to think about.
-
i really believe, before natalie leaves nebraska, she will have dropped a dime of 3's on someone (provided she is allowed the looks). i have watched the replay of the illinois tournament game a few times where she had 7. her misses were right on line, too. not far off at all! it is fun to think of having clark, theriot, and romeo on the floor at the same time dropping 3's on some opponent!!!

well, now that i am not "hyperventilating" over husker football, and, can breathe a little easier, i will throw my 2 cents out there. as stated in an earlier thread, i figured huskers would be in that 8-3, 7-4 area for the non-conference. i will go with 7-4. the road games with UConn and Cali will be awful tough. pretty sure Cali lost 2 real productive players to graduation and i also believe one got booted off the team. still, i think they may be one of the top athletic teams the huskers may face all season. i watched a couple of Cali's games last season and very impressed with their athleticism. plus, i just think huskers may drop a couple of games just due to youth/experience and the injuries. i am going to say huskers will end up 11-7 during the Big Ten season. where that would put them in the standings in the end, it's really hard to say. i do expect Maryland and OSU to be the "cream of the crop" when it's all said and done. taking from articles i have read about the injury, plus coach yori's comments, i am really not sure how much KC may be able to contribute. i sure hope she is able to make a big contribution, but, i think it is a pretty big ? mark. won't be too long and we may get a taste of what her season may look like. i listened to coach cook's comments on alicia ostrander and he believes husker nation may be pleasantly surprised at what she will be able to contribute to the huskers. he believes she could become a "dennis rodman" for the huskers. wouldn't that be sweet!!! so, imo, adding front court youth and injuries i just look at 7-4 ooc, and 11-7 big ten. that will leave the huskers to pick up a couple of games to hit that 20 mark season for the 5th time, i believe. i mirror many fans thoughts, that this will be a very good team as the season progresses. very possible many of the losses may come fairly early. let me finish by saying, for the obvious reasons, wouldn't surprise me if this turns out to be one of those "nail-biting" seasons on whether they get to the big dance. i do hope i am wrong because i really want to see rachel theriot play in the ncaa's on her senior year---not to mention the team, of course.

huh. baseball, tennis, and weightlifting are the worse culprits. can be difficult to diagnose. imagine she had arthroscopy done---maybe an mri showed the damage.
-
what a very nice surprise! yes, Hannah is a HUSKER!!! GBR!

banham good to go... http://www.startribune.com/improved-rachel-banham-expected-by-gophers-coach-marlene-stollings/330995531/ also, from twincities.com: The Gophers aren't sure who will replace Zahui B. and Kelley in the frontcourt, but they are planning to change the offense to be more perimeter-oriented, especially with Banham back. They might even play with a four-guard lineup at times. "I think this team is totally different," Banham said. "It's going to be a huge surprise for us and for the fans. We're a little bit smaller. We're going to play fast and score a lot -- at least I plan to. Shoot the ball a lot and shoot a lot of threes."
-
my expectations pretty much followed what the article stated. i really believe this will be a very tough team (especially at PBA) in the later half of the season (as long as health is a non-factor). imo, the sooner coach yori can establish her front court, the faster it will pay dividends. looking at ooc play, because of the youth of the front court (excluding havers) i think fans will see some hiccups along the way---in other words, it won't surprise me if they drop a game or two for that reason. that's why i am rooting to come out of the ooc with a 7-4, possibly 8-3 record. if they can do that, i think it puts them in a pretty good mindset going into BigTen play.
-
Good article......but #39...too low for our mighty team ! when i read the article, that was the first thing that "popped" into my mind. #39 seemed rather low---but, i understand it and think the article explained the situation fairly well---with youth (inexperience), and health being the main issues. it also stated they expect huskers to be pretty tough as season progresses. so, i get it.

expects a much different team than last year.http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/purdue/2015/10/06/purdue-womens-basketball-sharon-versyp-2015-16-season-preview/73452230/

maybe someone can set the record straight, but, didn't i hear/read somewhere that coach yori made a comment on KClark that she does have some "bone-on-bone" with that knee? IF it is true, that would be the injury that would concern me the most. it does make me wonder just how much contribution they will be able to get out of KC. Not to mention how the injury will affect her play on the court. i hope i am wrong, and wish KC all the best with the Huskers this season!

in case anyone is as curious about this injury---here is a good read on the subject: http://www.drpribut.com/sports/stress_fracture.html
