  1. Yes to Black Yes to the throwbacks we wore in Doc's final game.
  2. Sergej Vucetic---5 Walter Pitchford---28 Leslee Smith----22 Shavon Shields----28 David Rivers---10 Nick Fuller----6 Terran Petteway----26 Nathan Hawkins---4 Tai Webster-----25 Ray Gallegos-----30 Deverell "D Nasty" Biggs----13 Benny Parker----3
  3. It shouldn't. That should be expected. You're talking about a demographic from 10-19 wins. No one should really expect us to not fall in that category. No way do we win less than 10 and more than 20 wins is asking a lot for a young team with a difficult schedule.
  4. Athlon has us 12th as well. I think we're in the 7th-8th range personally. Penn State, Northwestern, Minnesota fall off. I think the top 6 are set as well. IMO, Illinois, us and Purdue are all in a dogfight for those 7-9 spots and spots on the bubble.
  5. I don't have the words to describe my feelings in a public forum about my excitement for this year
  6. Tim is stone cold killer.
  7. Man...I think its real darn good. I cant ask for much more. I like the schedule too, hopefully those 3 teams are better this year and can finish in the 250 to 300 range. Last year we didn't play a team with a 300+ RPI and only 3 with a 200+ RPI. I am glad that Biggs will get to play in 1 game before the Charleston Classic. The thing is...3 of those teams were pretty bad last year....but those teams arent consistently that bad. These teams are a far cry from the usual SWAC and MEAC teams we consistently play, where you know going in, what you are getting. It's very possible, in fact likely, that they move up.
  8. Man...I think its real darn good. I cant ask for much more.
  9. "I've seen worse" Understatement of the century. This is a damn good and damn smart schedule. If we come out of this with less than 4 losses I'll be tickled and we'll be sitting in damn good position entering league play.
  10. Was a miracle what we did last year with what Miles inherited. Incredible that we had that many near misses. Not sure what there is to be discouraged about. Puzzling. Correct. Last time a miracle of that nature occured was about 2200 years ago when someone was walking on water
  11. I still don't believe this is actually happening to Husker basketball.
  12. The best part about this...is that there are some nice names and practically no patsies...but the schedule isn't exactly a beast. In particular, FGCU and Miami, both have a lot of cred going right now based on last year, but will very likely not be near the caliber of teams they were in March of this year.
  13. Would've preferred that we found a late transfer...but it is what it is. Better him to help our APR than just someone at this point. Four years from now...then maybe you take a desperation shot. Now...just keep building your program the right way.
  14. Having Menke tie up a scholarship for two years ... That just ... I hate to knock the kid, but ... Wow. There aren't enough scholarships in basketball to set any aside to give to "deserving" walkons like there is in football. That's like voluntarily limiting yourself to 12 spots for 2 years. Have we also put ourselves on probation and banned ourselves from post-season for 2 years as well? You could commit some major recruiting violations and the NCAA wouldn't even hit you that hard. I get that Miles needed the roster space to try and swing for the fences. In retrospect, we would have been better off hanging onto Jerran Young or Fahro. (assuming a senior transfer doesn't magically appear on campus which still could happen) Hindsight is 20/20 Not that we have an open spot...yes it would have benefitted us to bring them in. They are average, at best, players....no reason to bring them in last year if you think you can get someone better in this class.
  15. Don't think you actually do. I could care less where this goes...I was just being sarcastic in response to the thread the other day. I was fine before this was moved.
  16. Bo's finishing touches on the 2008 and his 2009 class was mediocre. His 2010 classes and beyond will prove to be better.
  17. Actually, it's not. Your opinion is not necessarily everyone's reality. Actually it is. I am the only one that knows what is hard for me to fathom. And people considering Creighton as important as the Big 10 is most certainly hard for me to fathom. No one is considering Creighton as important as the Big 10. Doesn't mean it's not relevant to us though.
  18. Which should mean we will have a replacement soon.
  19. THIS ISN'T ON THE RIGHT BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Struggling to see what the difference is between me posting a thread about McDermott staying and you starting one about Burke and Hardaway leaving. Seems to be quite the double standard. I didn't start the thread because it dealt with Creighton hoops. I started it because it has an impact on NU hoops. That game just got tougher for us next year. That thread was started after the season ended. And as I said above, dimes has loosened the reins on what is typically a pretty hard and fast rule during the offseason in an attempt to keep the Dungeon from getting stale. Remember, I wasn't arguing that this thread doesn't belong here, nor do I think it needs to be moved. I was just saying that if it were me personally, I might stay away from starting topics of discussion regarding Creighton in this folder. Not passing any kind of judgement. You're free to do what you want. Was this thread not started after the season ended? I guess I figured it'd be obvious what the intent of the thread was. I didn't realize I had a long history of starting threads pertaining to Creighton.
  21. I fail to see the impact on NU hoops. If the Huskers beat Creighton without McDermott, or lose to them with him, the effect on our RPI will be minimal at best. It's a road game. I don't care where threads are placed. God knows I've had my share of off topic threads. If a thread pisses you off, don't comment on it. On the other hand, if you want to start a thread about Creighton, expect some backlash. I guess I struggle to see how one couldn't see the impact. This takes a team we play and makes them considerably better than what they would have been otherwise. And I'm struggling with the notion that there is just a minimal impact on winning vs. losing. There's a lot more at play than an RPI rating.
  22. Never said you couldn't. I don't care where you think it belongs. That's your call not mine. But YOU ASKED why it was relevant to us. So don't get bent out of shape when I answer. I put it here because it's my opinion that it's very relevant to us. We play them. It's a part of our non-con schedule. It just turned a game that would have looked very good for us, into a game that will be difficult. We play against him and as such....it's relevant to us. Also trying to figure out why you responded in the thread about Burke and Hardaway going pro and didn't seem to have a problem with that one being on this board and not the other? Why the double standard? That is creepy that you went back to something that I wrote what a couple of weeks ago? To try to make me look stupid. Because I don't even remember what I wrote at the beginning of this thread. But to each his own. Dude I don't need any help making myself look stupid. But as I said if we keep this up we can fill 10 pages and We will both look kind of foolish so I'm done you win, talk about it here all you want. It's on the second page and was on the front page just a week or two ago. It's not like I searched through the archive for it. Again...quite the double standard that one is acceptable and one isn't and they say the same thing.
