  1. Andrew White with 18 at half tonight.
  2. I chuckle at this reasoning. It's just a way to make us feel better about losing him. One of the most successful college coaches of all time certainly didn't think it was an issue
  3. Tarin had 23 tonight
  4. Coming into the year...I struggled to see Horne getting minutes. Completely surprised with his skills. Great shooter. Good ball handler for a stretch 4. Not sure I like him a ton on the wing as ball handling and defense could be an issue in big 10 play...but love him in the frontcourt. He'll get some looks away from the basket against other 4 and 5 men
  5. As far as Gill is concerned, we desperately need him to figure this out. We aren't going to win much of anything if he keeps playing like this. We need a quality 3rd guard with the ability to hit a 3. We can't have Webster and Watson playing 33 minutes each every night
  6. Understanding that Fuller is the good worker and team player but this is big boy college basketball. He shouldn't be on the floor unless there is severe foul trouble.
  7. He's done a good job....but to say he's the only coach in the country is a bit of a stretch. But this is year 5, not year 2 or 3. It's time for growth. If he loses to Gardner-Webb and goes 5-13 in conference play...he doesn't deserve the next two years after that. That being said, I don't believe that will happen. But if it does, real questions need to be asked because that is another underwhelming performance and not justified by the talent and depth that we have.
  8. Miles doesn't 'deserve' 3 more seasons. He 'deserves' to have a chance to prove himself to get there. At some point in time we have to stop starting over and see growth in the young guys we have.
  9. Creighton is really really good. That kills me to say
  10. Horrible performance Gill is not good
  11. Illinois had two proven Big 10 caliber players coming back off of injury. Minnesota added some nice transfers. We lost not only Shields but White at the last minute. It's fair on paper
  12. White leaving is not a blessing. We're an NCAA team with him
  13. Agreed...but he would've helped last year. He is/was better than Parker. And he'd add depth this year.
  14. Tarin Smith had 13 for Duquense last night.
  15. For as unlikeable as AW3 became....he'd help us and we'd be real darn tough. We may be real darn tough anyways but he only makes us better. Pisses me off thinking about it
  16. Watching that game last night left me upset. Upset with AW3. Oh why couldn't he buy in. You add his outside shooting to this team and you really have something. Two biggest concerns that stand out to me is going to be CONSISTENT outside shooting. Gill will have games where he goes 4-6 from the arc and 1-7 the next. McVeigh should be solid, but not real optimistic on others. Horne showed he could hit it but he needs to get better defensively to consistently be on the floor. Secondly, wish we had one more capable big. Morrow and Jacobson are much improved. And Jordy is a legit player, but one more body for depth would be nice. As for the good..... Ed Morrow is a grown man. Jordy is big and strong. Willing to be active. Maybe too willing. Needs to improve at the line. Jacobson will just be solid. Taylor impressed for his role. Gill was a bit of a let down to me...but still showed he could score...wanting to see him a bit more fresh McVeigh showed he could shoot Webster was solid Watson is terrific and could have done so much more. Horne had a nice shot Roby=man crush The biggest thing to me....there's no bums in the group of 10. In the past we've always had liabilities and holes. Guys who were considered defensive guys, not because their defense was good, but because their offense was so bad. No longer. We're complete. You see a legit 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on the floor. You aren't robbing Peter to pay Paul. That's exciting.
  17. While true, this team won't have an offensive black hole on it. It'll be the most complete lineup we've had which will help in balancing the scoring
  18. Regardless of what his percentage was, Im not worried about Watson's ability to shoot it
  19. Southern ConferenceBig Ten it's still D1 basketball and Samford beat us last year. It's a night and day difference in competition levels. And Sanford beating us was an embarrassment
  20. Southern Conference Big Ten
  21. This staff really needs a solid year as its becoming evident that the recent struggles is starting to take a toll on the recruiting trail. Not sure I can agree. Let this cycle play out. This year's sophomores was a highly talented group. It was followed up by this year's class which were all top-150 guys. How is that "taking a toll"? I think he means this go round with the 2017 class. We have Nana who is a nice piece but we have seemingly swung and missed with all of our Plan A & B guys.
  22. Recruiting high-caliber players is most-definitely "results" . . . but I know you mean win-loss results. Nonetheless, I've seen great progress for Nebrasketball under the current regime. Whoever wants to wallow in dread and gloom -- have at it. After all, that's the natural state of an anonymous board like this. But I have been . . . and am going to continue . . . enjoying the ride on the upward trajectory that is Nebrasketball.. I think you can point to recruiting high-caliber players as 'results' in years 1, 2, 3 or even 4, when you are building your program. At year 5....results has to be on the floor. And recruiting wise the last 2 classes have certainly been our best and a step forward....but if we don't win this year....after the last two....it becomes very fair to ask if progress is legitimately being made.
  23. Yep....you can sell vision in the first couple of years....when you get to year 5...you need some substance
  24. Officially visiting this coming weekend
  25. Not actionable? How do you figure? I mean, how was it ever actionable in the first place, and if it was, what makes it not so now? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding your use of the word "actionable"? What I mean by that is that we are not allowing him to sign and come aboard now as was the original expectation when the scholarship was verballed two years ago. Does he still have an offer...sure...but it's not for another year. The offer for this year really doesn't stand anymore.
