YEP. Base uniforms stay the same. One time a year alternates would be better

Paschal Chukwu 2015 C Providence transfer -> Syracuse
nustudent replied to TheKamdyMan's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Not sure that's automatically the case. Shawn Watson and Tim Cassidy were both on the coaching staff and had kids walk on. Cassidy's kid eventually earned the scholarship but it wasn't given right away As long as the kid is an actual walk on and follows normal walk on protocol, I don't believe it counts. If the kid is a recruited athlete he can't walk on. -
2016-2017 Lineup since it was discussed as potent.... PG- Glynn Watson, So PG/SG-Bakari Evelyn, So PG/SG- Tai Webster, Sr SG-Anton Gill, rJr SF-Andrew White, rSr SF-Jack McVeigh, So SF-Isaiah Roby, Fr SF/PF-Nick Fuller, rJr PF-Ed Morrow, So PF-Michael Jacobson, So PF-Keanu Pinder, Jr C-Jacob Hammond, Jr OPEN That is a very long lineup.

Transfer F Tyler Harris (Providence) -> Auburn
nustudent replied to TheKamdyMan's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
We don't need Harris to be your traditional 5. Fact of the matter is that there are very few college teams with legitimate 5-men. Guys like Okafor and Kaminski are not the norm. Get me a bunch of long athletic guys who are quick leapers and can alter shots, play with an attitude and not just get pushed around like Walt did. -
2015 PG Bakari Evelyn -> Nebraska -> Valparaiso -> Iowa
nustudent replied to Norm Peterson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
With or without Watson, we are extremely thin in the backcourt. We need another guard who can play the two badly. You have Parker (Sr- Can't play the two), Watson (incoming true frosh) and Webster (combo guard who has been wildly undependable). Not a ringing endorsement there. Wouldn't White be considered a two? He might be able to play there...but as M&R states...the guy is 6'7" Thats a pretty rare player that is going to be quick enough to defend the two in college at that size. -
That would be like telling the guys... "Hey, we aren't going to win any games, so let's go out, play hard, and we'll see what happens next year." Thats a good way to get yourself fired real quick... but even more, a good way to lose the team. If we redshirted our best guy every year we were picked to be in the bottom half of the conference..... WE WOULD NEVER HAVE A BEST GUY. Thats like saying we should have redshirted TP when we made the run to the dance. We were picked to finish DAL Coach Miles has already said that he wanted Ubel to redshirt his first year. That would have been a similar situation Not really That was year 1, not year 4

Maryland wont be in the top 4. Losing Wells is going to kill them and they got alot of breaks this year. Thats even assuming Trimble comes back

Piatkowski was also a true freshman

Transfer F Rafael Maia (Brown) -> Pitt
nustudent replied to hhcmatt's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
He shouldn't be on the top of our list but he's a guy that can play 10-20 minutes for us next year. He seems like Leslee Smith, a valuable role player, without the injury baggage. Yep. We need competent bigs for next year...even in a role player setting. If nothing else...hes a role guy off the bench that can take some pressure off of Hammond and Morrow -

Yep. Don't take him over Edwards or anyone else we can get out of HS or JUCO...but if the scholarship is going to be open...fill it -
you really think miles told him to leave when hammond is our only player over 6'8 left on the roster? Not say he did, not saying he didn't here....but if (hypothetically) Walter wasn't willing to do what was necessary...then yes...Miles is going to tell him to leave....regardless of what our depth looks like, You saw what bad chemistry can do to a team this year. And it is also debateable if we would have got the nice win over Michigan St. if he had not been ejected. It is possible that he was a detriment to our chemistry(not saying it was a detrimient). Agreed
-
You think he would mature? I would hope, but we don't need more chemistry issues... thats for sure. Thatd be my concern as well with Foster

I just don't understand this line of thinking. This team didn't fall apart so much as it just wasn't that good to begin with. I'm not saying things were all rosey...clearly they were not with some attrition...but attrition happens in college basketball and one of the guys leaving is leaving to play ball professionally. It's hard to blame TP's departure on Miles. There aren't too many guys who average 18+ in the Big 10 as a 3rd year sophomore and 4th year junior who are going to return. Its just the way it is. I also take into consideration Miles past as to what he has done and what he did no more than 380 days ago. We speak about resources but we also conveniently ignore the things that work against us. There's uncertainty because he inherited a sh!t storm. You don't erase 100 years of ineptitude over night. But maybe Rome was built in a day People also like to conveniently ignore the 2013-2014 season when attempting to explain how bad of a coach Miles is as well. Yep...that team had no business winning 10 games, let alone the 15 they won
-
Nah. I think we are a better team without him. Thought he should have been benched early this past season. Agreed

Depends on the manner in which those stats come. What type of defense does he play?
-
Two regulars that gave us nothing that isn't relatively replaceable. agree completely. Neither was very good IMO. Pitchford was downright bad this year. Smith was up and down...the thing with him was potential....but if Watson is as advertised...we won't miss Smith much
-
Two regulars that gave us nothing that isn't relatively replaceable.Nu, who would make you worry? And glad you're back Shields and/or White would be the only ones on this team.
