  1. White and Mcveigh both drained their first three point attempts. Morrow is a beast underneath. I'm in the Vault.
  2. Here is a video from a year ago. I think this may be the same Cameron Martin.
  3. Here is a report on him dated June 14, 2015: 2017 Cameron Martin 6ft8 C Yukon HS: Martin a skilled bigman will be the key to an improved Miller's squad that fell one game short of the state tournament. A textbook skilled big, Martin has great hands and great feet. Martin can shoot, has post moves, and excellent vision from the post. A space carver like ex-Sooner Kevin Bookout, offers are on the way. Martin is not overly athletic which is why his skillset development is crucial. This development can catapult him from being a mid major prospect to a BigXII prospect.
  4. This might be a track recruit: Edit: 2017 Winnebago (Neb.) forward David Winged:
  5. 2017 Yukon (Okla.) power forward Cameron Martin
  6. Not instate, but here is a new 2018:
  7. Petteway is now an unrestricted free agent. Other teams can now pick him up. But if they don't, he still earns a $75,000 payout from the Hawks. In Atlanta's training camp, Petteway was one of six players competing for one roster spot. Only two players now remain in competition for that spot: a second year undrafted pro and a 34 year old 7 foot center. So, he came pretty close. Other teams who showed significant interest in him before his contract with Atlanta (and who apparently remain in the mix to some degree) are Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, Philladelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornetts, Utah Jazz and Milwaukee Bucks. Terran Petteway clearly made the right choice for himself and his family. He's making real money. He's on the cusp of the highest level the game of basketball has to offer, and he has real and significant options for the future. Good for him!!! [P.S. Robin Washut is the source of detail information above, while the opinions are mine.]
  8. Two or four--it's only stars:
  9. Here is some information on the matter: Petteway . . . will become an unrestricted free agent. The guard/forward appeared in three exhibition games. He scored a total of five points, making both his field goal attempts including a 3-pointer. He also had four assists, a steal and a rebound in a total of 21:29. He has not played in the past three exhibition games as he was dealing with a right ankle
  10. Hey, Kamdy, here's a rules question. Tanner Borchartd is, obviously, a smart kid (Regents Scholarship) and is focused on academics and getting a degree. Let's assume he walks on for four years, gets a one or two semester scholarship along the way (like Trevor Menke), and then graduates in four or five years. Question: Does he then count favorably toward Nebrasketball's Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in any significant way?
  11. He had a shoulder injury along the way at ASU, rumor has it. And then his coach was fired. It will be interesting to see if he becomes a "you are our number one priority" type of recruit (like Jeriah Horne) or a "let's sign you in the spring" type of guy (like Atewe).
  12. That puts us 12th in the B1G. The next closest B1G teams above us are 83 Northwestern, 70 Minnesota, 65 Illinois and 52 Ohio St. Last time we were ranked 12th in the preseason, things turned out pretty well. Here's hoping for a reprise of those devlopments. We undoubtedly have better over-all talent now than on that team--but the talent upgrade is mostly young.
  13. They are recruited as "athletes."
  14. This is Jericho Sims:
  15. Jasey is in the gray shirt above:

  17. The basketball world is full of four- and five-star flops and of low-star wonders. In recruiting, fighting for the best players and finding the rough diamonds are tricks and risks of the trade. What fans want to see in recruiting wars is this: (i) pitched battles with peer and higher-level teams, and (ii) some significant victories in those battles. Recent examples of high-level Husker victories are Edward Morrow, Glynn Watson, Andrew White and Anton Gill. It's demoralizing for fans when a staff seems to consistently settle for rough diamonds that commit without much of a recruiting fight. That's why fans try to up-sell competition levels for a low-competition recruit. We won't know for a while how this recruit will perform in college. What we do know, however, is that he is a rough diamond who committed without much of a recruiting fight.
  18. well, that is true if you assume that we only have one scholarship left and only one area of need. I am not sure those are safe assumptions, however. And the other problem is that there are not a lot of quality bigs left on the board. In my opinion, it would be nice to have another young guard who would have some experience after Webster and white have left. We lose three guards in the next two recruiting cycles and we don't have any guards on board for the 16 class. Making a push to land him? We didn't offer the guy a scholarship so I don't see where the push is. Since Horne just verballed 4 days ago. If we were actually looking at this kid it's fairly probable it was in the capacity of "who do we sign if we don't sign Horne?" That very well might have been what K-State did offering him after losing out on Horne. You Omaha World Herald subscribers crack me up sometimes. The Rivals report cited above is a bluejay Rivals publication. Davion Mintz does have a Rivals page now--three stars.
  19. Miles is adamant and clear that he wants a center. The staff is all over 2017 and younger guys--and already has a 2017 commit. Another scholarship availability won't be known for many months. So . . . its not much of an out-on-a-limb to say the Nebraska reference is odd. Frankly, it looks like the interest from Kansas St. on this player was something of a plan b or c.
  20. According to a Rivals report on this guy's commitment, "a lot of college coaches and schools like Miami, Georgia Tech and Nebraska also started making a push to land Mintz." Unless this guy can play center, the Nebraska reference seems odd.
  21. I report. You decide. Your argument is with Washut, not me.
