  1. Agree. This team should get better as the season progresses: the quality of the product on the court at the end of the season should be dramatically better than at the beginning, assuming reasonably good luck on injuries. That’s the direct-opposite from last year, because most of our best talent was returning.
  2. Hmmm . . . France’s population is about 67 million. Nebraska’s is about 2 million. Odds’ve gotta be on the Franks, right?
  3. Or, perhaps, the Wisconsin’s JV reference means that everyone on Latvia’s team looks like a cousin to Thorir Thorbjarnarson?
  4. Help me understand: a 12th rated Rivals kid and a B1G recruit on the same team are in a tight game against Wisconsin’s JV team? How can this be?
  5. Lots to like about Yvan in the Latvia video. He’s a tough and quick defender—can control his man, both down low and out front. He’s a load for defenders in the post with the ball in his hands—moves well to create an opening and still finds the open man with a good pass.
  6. What!? Wasn’t he a sure-fire NBAer?
  7. It’s a graduation issue, not a grades issue, according to this post by klrgumby on Red Sea Scrolls: He is a 4-2-4 juco rule guy so he has to graduate since he started out first at Stephen F Austin out of HS before transferring to his juco. Had he gone juco out of HS he’d have been cleared already.
  8. Agreed. The jump from Juco to major college basketball must be a big one. The most successful Jucos I’ve seen had their success in year two, after struggling in year one.
  9. Gotta love the “Palpable buzz” comment.
  10. Palmer had a nice game tonight. Phoenix is at it’s best when Palmer is driving and dishing. Also, Palmer had a steal with seconds left to preserve the win.
  11. Agree! To your point, 49r: early in his second game Roby got his fingertips on a three-point shot and immediately ran to the other end—his teammate grabbed the blocked shot and hit Roby in-stride for a lay-in. Roby didn’t even take a dribble. It was a spectacular series of events, but the announcers totally missed it because they were gabbing about something that had nothing to do with the game.
  12. His fouls were from aggressive defense—and one charge that could have gone either way. He played well on the defensive end of the court and created disruption for the other team. Note: James was guarding the other team’s top scorer at the end of the game when it was close and the outcome hung in the balance.
  13. I watched much of the game and didn’t realize Andrew White was involved. But White only played 4 minutes and was 0 for 1, with zeros everywhere else on the stat line.
