He’s a Pennsylvania kid who stayed home the first time around — probably unlikely to change for round two.

They are set to have good teams as this season progresses and for the next few years. During the time of their connection with those greasy-agent guys, their recruiting haul turned into nearly all four-stars. That bonanza will have a positive impact for several years. But that same greasy-agent connection has its down-side as well (regardless of what actually happened). It will be interesting to see how their fortunes fare over the years to come.

And as long as we are talking what could/should/might have been, get this from last night in Wisconsin: "Morrow playing only 6 and a half minutes and ending up with 0 points and 0 rebounds. Before the pre-season, I figured he'd be #3 or #4 in mpg and possibly be our #3 scorer. Here's a guy who averaged 9.4 ppg and 7.5 rpg two years ago in the Big 14. I never, anticipated he'd get fewer than 10 minutes in even one game the entire season, let alone fewer than 7 minutes."
-
Yeah. And he’s playing the post position.
-
And this is a report from October 23, 2018: Morrow has been seen limping around campus a bit over the last week which makes me worry a bit about his health as he had foot problems at Nebraska and foot problems and big men do not go together very well in case you haven’t heard.
-
Yeah. And in their scrimmage he played post as well.

At the other end of the spectrum is Ross Jernstrom of WOWT: last night he declared the 4 of 26 three-point stat at least three times—shaking his head and showing greater incredulity and alarm on each repeat. I was almost ready to cash in the entire season based on his view—but it was the night after Halloween, after all; so that may explain his sense of dread and horror.

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 11; ed prologue

I watched Palmer in the halftime shoot around. He made nearly everything he shot from three and everywhere else—he rarely missed. Surely that will start happening during a game. -

2018 C Brady Heiman - LOI -> South Dakota
Swan88 replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Hail Varsity has a cool article about Brady Heiman and Armon Gates. Here’s a blurb from the article: It all came down to that final possession and, more specifically, to junior forward Isaiah Roby and freshman forward Brady Heiman. Roby was on offense, Heiman on defense. The two met at the rim and Brady blocked Roby's shot. Heiman's team errupted. . . . The coaches were pumped because of the phsyicality Heiman had just displayed. Yet Heiman stayed quiet. . . . "It was probably 30 seconds that went by and I was thinking, ‘What do I do right now?’" Gates told Hail Varsity. "My instincts took over and I told him to go talk to Roby and tell him to get that sh*t out of here." Coach Tim Miles . . . heard some commotion, followed by Heiman slowly approaching Roby. "So Brady walks by real quietly and says, 'Roby, don't do that. Don’t come in on my house,' or whatever it was," Miles said. "He said it's so apologetically. And by the time he finally said something to Roby, Roby just looked at him like, 'Why are you doing this now?'" Roby laughed. He shrugged Heiman off, but Gates beamed. "I think he realizes he can talk a little trash now," Gates said. Here’s a link to the article: https://hailvarsity.com/s/5301/nebraska-coaches-trying-to-teach-brady-heiman-the-art-of-trash-talk -

Ha! Your friend is irritated by Miles’s success with transfers and can’t let positivity go unopposed—that’s a fan of another team.
-
The number of Miles's staff that have become head coaches, and the number of graduate assistants who have progressed into the coaching ranks, suggest that people making hiring decisions for college basketball teams have a contrary view. Terran Petteway, Shavon Shields, James Palmer, Isaac Copeland and Isaiah Roby may also have a contrary view.

Good for Tim Miles. He's saying what needs to be said: the ones getting screwed in all this are the schools who try to play by the rules. Here are some of his quotes. On how you know that things aren't right in recruiting: “You know when you’re dancing with the devil,” Miles said Monday. “You might suspect it like, eh, this one is a little funky here. Like, why is this kid interested in us, and whatever it may be. And then pretty soon somebody asks for something and we’re like, ‘No, sorry, we don’t play that game.’” “We don’t operate that way.” On what the NCAA needs to do with cheaters: “Get the cheaters out of the game.” "they think that’s fine. The shoe companies, everybody, but it’s not fine, obviously.” “It’s just sad." What's needed is "a contraction to expand and flourish to be even better." "hopefully, the NCAA comes out strong.” On how it affects the players: "families and coaches are taking the joy out of a kid's recruitment. Bowen, Miles said, wanted to go to Michigan State or Arizona. He ended up at Louisville instead . . . "Where's the joy in going to Louisville? You've robbed that kid of that decision."
