  1. Nice win but a lot of unforced turnovers. The lob passes seem to miss more than the connect. Michigan State is clearly superior to Illinois. We will be in a battle to finish in the top 4 of the league. Haven't seen much of Penn St. but with Maggie Lucas they are going to be good.
  2. Illinois, if I remember correctly, hurt us with pressure defense last year. I see that as a major problem tomorrow in Champaign. Hope the shots fall or it will be a loss.
  3. I'd be a little caution about the Hammonds kid. He hasn't played against the best competition.
  4. The Biggs-Webster questions is interesting. Biggs can make plays offensively but appears, at time. to be a head case when the game doesn't go his way. I would like to see Webster be a little more aggressive offensively. I believe he took it to the basket the first or 2nd possession of the 2nd half and then hardly looked to score. Maybe, play them both at the same time moving Pettaway to the 4. I'm not the coach, I don't see them practice. Just hope they keep competing and make a good showing at Purdue.
  5. Don't forget Cady. She excels in so many areas. Her effort is consistent and relentless. I'm just disappointed Connie took 2 years off in recruiting. Not fair to Hooper and Cady to not have more talent around them. It looks like they're not making the same mistake and are lining up a lot of talent to play with Shepard, but time will tell. I agree completely that it is sad to have Hooper and Cady and not enough to go with them. This team gives effort but has too many flaws and Hooper, good as she is, does not have a true post up game.
  6. 00 is sorely missed. It also shows how great she was as a player. MSU was far superior in every phase of the game. Looks to be a long season in conference for the ladies. Hopefully, the incoming freshmen are as good as advertised. This team clearly needs more depth.
  7. No Runza's in Texas, so whenever I'm back in Nebraska I have to stop to get a fix!
  8. Is Shields in the dreaded "sophomore slump?"
  9. Starters are playing way too many minutes. This team will wear down soon. Lack of depth is a major concern.
  10. I'd be more concerned about the product on the floor than the product in the stands. Consistent winning will bring a "festive" atmosphere to any arena.
  11. Looking forward to seeing the team live Saturday against South Dakota. What is the secret that Creighton has of putting the collar on Jordan Hooper?
  12. I'd say we have more pressing issues than Grant Gibbs or beating Creighton next year! Let's focus on gettng better and maybe beating Arkansas State.
  13. Colors are Scarlet and Cream. I don't read black in there anywhere. Lose the black uniforms. (of course I'm an old codger!)
  14. With Simon leaving that will force Sample to help out in the post when there is foul trouble. Theriot may get run down as the season goes on as she is playing a lot of minutes. Team is very thin in the post. (no pun intended)
  15. Was it worth burning Hawkins "redshirt", or in this case, the god awful black uniforms that were worn today.
  16. Why would McDermott have to play much defense tonight? Nobody challenged him. I was tryng to figure out what we were trying to do on offense all first half, if someone knows, please tell me. Memo to Coach Miles: Burn the black uniforms.
  17. Viewing the game on TV one can conclude that the Huskers might be very tough to beat at PBA! I hope that carries over into the conference schedule. Looking forward to see a game over the holidays while back north in Nebraska.
  18. I was only able to listen to the first half. No Hooper looks to be bad news for the Huskers. Cady wasn't much of a factor tonight. However, it was at Carmichael and it will be a good developmental experience for this team. The team needs to make a statement against Utah St. and Creighton and build up some momentum, depth and confidence prior to the conference race.
  19. Creighton is no shoo-in for an NCAA bid. They will be in trouble in several Big East Road games. NU has a better chance to win than I first thought after watching the losses to George Washington and S. Diego St. If the Jays shoot the ball well, then it's probably "turn out the lights, the party's over!"
  20. Lack of depth and inside offensive post presence really hurt in this game. Wazzu had a good defensive plan and we seemed to content to fire up outside shots. Not many key offensive rebounds in the game. North Carolina could be ugly but I wouldn't write this team off. We make a few shots, we beat Wazzu. They just didn't fall.
  21. Why not stop worrying about "who" we don't have and try to develop those the "we" do have on the roster?
  22. I watched Creighton play Tulsa and I was not impressed. Huskers can win the game if they play well. By the way, UMASS is currently in the top 25. Maybe the tunnel is not so dark.
  23. The early season is to develop some players to enter conference season. I don't expect this team to beat UNC at Chapel Hill, it appears to me that every other non-conference game is winnable. Barring injury, this team will be in the thick of the B1G race this year.
  24. Unless Hawkins is going to play quality minutes every game, it might be better to redshirt him.
  25. I believe New Mexico is a decent team and will do fine in their league. UMass looked to be a nice ball club.
