autumn johnson(?) on the BTN has Huskers as a #5 seed in the tourney. Lol, I simply want us to win the next game up. The post season will then take care of itself.

For what it's worth, Lars Anderson opined that Mickey was going to be named HC in two weeks. My only follow up question; if true, why is Trev waiting two weeks?

Not a good situation; but excellent steps are being taken to steady the situation. Plus, she fully understands that the impact of her actions. Point is, although there will be scars and a few opportunities lost; the wounds will heal. And she will still have opportunities to reach her life goals.

The reality is that our free throws weren't falling last night. However, I'm not in panic mode yet. Form looks good, releases look good, shots simply didn't fall. Putting too much emphasis on it likely will create more issues then will be solved. The two who may struggle more than others may be Gary and Blaise, but we shall see.

Interesting game. General theme was inconsistancy. Players that were "on" against Maine, missed the mark against Omaha. I guess that tells us that on any given night, somebody else may step up. Sam was big again tonight. Blaise had a good game. As did the freshmen. But man, we seem to be on the cusp of breaking the game open, and then, bad choices. I am optimistic that we can be pretty good, once we find consistency.

But they were good.

Need to get consistent both on the offensive and defensive end.

I wouldn't sleep on Jacobson. I think we will see him and McPherson playing PG a bit over the next few years. I REALIZE Jacobson is a walk on, and he lacks Sam's overall size, but I opine that their games are pretty similar.

I have mixed feelings...if he realizes he is only going to play mop up minutes, then this move certainly allows him to build skills and allows him to play more meaningful minutes here or elsewhere next season. He is a player who reconfirmed his commitment here after Matt was bounced and Fred was placed in the corner. That sort of makes me think he would like to succeed here. Players with that four and five star talent, tends to move onto pro ball before their full eligibility is up. Five years in college seems rare. If he is unhappy, he will likely leave at semester, if not sooner.

I will add that we looked like a "team" yesterday. Not sure how to explain that in detail; but the cohesiveness jumped out at me. It also appears that a number of the players have the ability to carry the team for prolonged minutes as necessary. We will be a hard team to defend as a result.

Many in our section thought the opposite...we saw much more activity from the assistants interacting with the players and Fred. Also noted that Sam was like a coach on the floor. It has been a few years since we saw our PG take charge like that.

We made some in game adjustments that seemed positive. We play hard, but need to play a bit smarter at times. This was said earlier, Sam's scoring was quiet. The points pretty much came to him. He only forced a couple shots due to time clock issues. Gary did force a few, but the dude has a great motor.

Back home from game...hey 1-0. A lot of stuff needs to be fixed, but some good as well.

Man, we looked good today. Also, Sam was walking around without a wrap and with barely a limp.

Knowing a player is out is "our business;" but making accusations about drug use when there is no foundation for that conjecture is not proper. DW has been a model citizen since he has been here...unless of course someone proves otherwise. It has been a few years ago, but a husker fan got into some legal issues by making false accusations about an opponent. So Matt, are you saying it is okay to do that now?

I get a lot of information from a lot of different people, yet I have not heard anything regarding DW. Nothing. I did get confirmation that he is day-to-day. Here is my issue, if someone has concrete information, please share. But rumors and innuendo that besmearches a kids reputation is pretty mean spirited. I guess it is a reflection of the current environment.

Not to be a pessimistic lad; but unless we can solve our offensive line woes, it may not matter who starts in the skill positions...
