Looks awesome. If DONU ever finds a way to slap that picture on apparel, I will give them all of my money.

I don't have anything intelligent to add. Just want to say that those old school Goldy and Herbie mascots are GLORIOUS.

Ouch. I don't think I've ever been dead last in a game prediction before.

This thread is depressing.

My vote is for Fran McCaffery.

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: Vol: 10; ed: 25 - @ Wisconsin

The Badger message boards must be melting down right now. To get all the calls to go your way and yet piss the game away at the free throw line...man, that's got to be a terrible feeling. Ha! -
Nebraska on the Selection Committee Board
aphilso1 replied to hhctony's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Unfortunately we won't know what the committee is thinking until Selection Sunday. Among bubble teams, most will have at least one or two Quadrant 3/4 losses. Nebraska on the other hand has no bad losses. How much does that help offset having no Quadrant 1 victories? Tough to say, and honestly it seems like the relative value of bad losses vs. great wins varies year to year. It's even harder to predict this year now that we've got the quadrant mumbo jumbo. WRT the St. John's loss, I don't think it matters at all that Lovett was in the game. We got absolutely crushed. Lovett being out wouldn't have flipped that game from a W to an L, so the point is moot. -
Well let's just win 'em all and not worry about. We can all agree on that!
-
Even so, that's still not what the formula is saying. If you're looking at where the formula is projecting one extra 1 to flip to a 0, it's from the three games in which we are significantly favored (Rutger, Indy, & PSU); our projected win total for those three games is 2.1, not 3. That's where the extra loss is projected. The four coin-flip games come out to a wash, since we're barely dogs in two and barely favorites in the other two. Still comes out to 2 wins in 4 games for those.

Careful. IIRC we were a finalist in Davison's recruitment. Had he been ours, he would've been "scrappy," "a gamer," and a "smart player." But since he's a Badger, I guess you're right. He's a whiny flopper
-
No, that's not the way that works. The way they project final record is to add up the odds for each remaining game (0.45 + 0.46 + 0.79, etc) and that total tells you how many more expected wins you have. The math adds up to 4.07, meaning we are expected to have 4 more wins. Think about if the odds of victory were 49% for every game in an entire season. Technically that would mean you're expected to go winless if you only look at each game in isolation. But taken as a whole, you'd expect to win just under half of them. Same thing.

Garza looks like a guy that, given a few years of development, could end up a good one. At a minimum he would've beat out Duby and Tanner on the depth chart for us.

Behind Enemy Lines-- Other Big 10 Boards

Great idea, @hskr4life. Also, props to Maryland for best board name. Turtle Soup is just fantastic. -
This would be my vote, too. Also, since my wife attended only one game with me, got embarrassed by my passionate yelling/taunting/screaming, and swore never to attend a game with me again...I would just be excited that she is going with you. BTW, she made that promise a decade ago before we where even married, and she's thus far followed through on her promise.

Nebraska on the Selection Committee Board

Dude...that is some serious effort. Props to you! -
I actually liked watching games in the Devaney better. Attendance was almost always low, so I could buy nosebleed seats 5 minutes before tip-off and watch the game from empty expensive seats.

How many future pros are on our roster?
aphilso1 replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The most convenient fast food near my office is a Burger King, so whenever I forget my lunch on the kitchen countertop it usually means I'll be "enjoying" BK. Ugh. I've found the place to be almost tolerable if you order a Rodeo Cheeseburger or two (hidden menu item -- burger topped with BBQ sauce and onion rings) and get onion rings instead of fries. IMO their french fries are the worst on the market by a huge margin. They taste like chemicals. I don't know how people can go there and order a regular cheeseburger and fries and not just want to throw their lunch in the trash. -
There's a really solid preview on the Rutgers page of SBNation-- https://www.onthebanks.com/2018/1/24/16920910/rutgers-mens-basketball-game-22-preview-vs-nebraska-tim-miles-james-parker-jr-steve-pikiell-big-ten I found the breakdown of both teams' strengths and weaknesses to be pretty good. Of particular note: "For Division I (351 teams), Rutgers is ranked eighth in rebounding (40.9), ninth in scoring defense (62.1 ppg) thirteenth in both offensive rebounding (13.7) and FG% defense (38.9%), as well as fourteenth in turnover margin (4.1)."

They did still win their last game by 16, even without Williams. Granted that game was against Iowa...
