  1. Brad Davison: Man I wish I could play college ball forever. Too bad it finally had to come to an end. Grant Gibbs: Yeah man, those were the days. Keisei: Hold my sake.
  2. Thanks for another great year of hosting HHCC, @HuskerFever. It’s always a fun part of the basketball season. Well, guess it’s time to update my sig block now!
  3. Why are we collectively so afraid to call it a great season? Yeah, we got boat raced in the tourney. One and done, I get it it. But the YEAR is on the Mount Rushmore of Husker Hoops seasons. And beyond the wins and losses, this team was a joy to cheer for. The year was fun and exciting and full of far more ups than downs. Don't be afraid to call it what it truly was: great.
  4. I’ll say it again. Get to the paint and put their big uglies in foul trouble. They can’t beat us on the offensive boards if they are sitting on the bench.
  5. Keep getting into the paint. We’re getting fouled about 50% of the time. Put TAMU in foul trouble for the second half and see what happens
  6. You guys I can’t handle this. I’m glassy eyed already. Love this team
  7. Opposite. He was referring to Washington as a place that had climbed the proverbial mountain, and thus could do it again. He used Nebraska as an example of a has been to contrast with Washington.
  8. I’m a bit pessimistic on this hire. 1. He didn’t build Washington’s success, he inherited it. 2. Always be leery of hires that spent less than a year at their previous stop. Are they running away from something that hasn’t hit the news cycle yet? 3. He verbally crapped on Nebraska less than a year ago. Could have chose literally any bridge to burn and he chose us. But we hired him anyway. Put it together and it looks like a bad hire to me. He’s a guy whose success was earned by others, who hasn’t even unpacked his bags from his last move, and has no personal affinity towards DONU.
  9. Huskers 80 TAMU 70 One win. But one is enough, and I'll probably cry.
  10. Well there's an ironic twist. Bill Self has the best music taste in the field? Weird.
  11. The link works. Board of Regents, on the other hand…
  12. Vote early and vote often, preferably in multiple precincts. 'Tis the Chicago Way.
  13. Calling Canadian Whiskey better than bourbon should be a permaban offense.
  14. This makes me want to move back to Nebraska simply to vote against every current Regent up for re-election.
  15. #3 seems like a likely candidate. TAMU has a history of buying whatever and whomever they want with silly amounts of money. Even compared to other elite spending D1 programs.
  16. I'm surprised that Gary didn't get an Honorable Mention from the coaches. His ability to do literally every skill on a basketball court seems like something coaches would value. Also wondering if he received any votes for DPOY. I can understand why he didn't make the Media's list though.
  17. These are the two non-Huskers that immediately jumped out to me, too. Ware both filled the stat sheet (16 PPG, nearly 10 RPG) and had moments of dominance. He routinely looked like the best player on the court. Perkins on the other hand... I had to go back to his stats to see if maybe he put up great numbers, because I never was that impressed with him using the subjective eyeball test. He did finish the year with a 2.5 assist/TO ratio, which is something that I could see coaches valuing. Maybe that's why the coaches loved him?
  18. It feels weird to be content with a winless start, but I am happy with how SKC has played. -Stole a point in Houston after being thoroughly outplayed -Outclassed Union and should have won the home opener. Even the MLS 360 guys were saying SKC won that match, with the officials handing the tie to Philly. -Hung tough and earned a point in LA. Great match.
  19. Honestly I don't know how to rationalize what the Committee Chair said in his interview with their written bracketing principles. The principles state that they won't put a Top-4 seed in a second round potential home court disadvantage. But then in the interview you quoted, he says he would put Nebraska in Omaha or BYU in SLC as a non-top4 seed...but how can they do that without violating their bracketing principles? If you're not a Top 4 seed, then you will be playing a Top 4 seed in either the first round (if seeded 13-16) or potentially in the second (if seeded 5-12). I think you hit the nail on the head when you state it's written like stereo instructions. The explanation just adds confusion rather than making it more clear.
  20. Except Section III of the bracketing principles you linked states that they “shall not place teams seeded on the first four lines at a potential 'home-crowd disadvantage' in the second round.”
  21. I hear you, but 2 hours and 11 minutes from Auburn to Birmingham is not the same thing as 56 minutes from Omaha to Lincoln. I've never seen a 1 seed play an opening weekend road game inside of the opponent fanbase's daily commute.
  22. If we can go deep in the B1G Tourney and work our way up to a 6 seed, I think that gives us the best chance to play in Omaha.
