  1. Even if Shavon is back, I would expect to see someone who plays 15-20 minutes, not 30-35. And he's going to be comparatively out of shape.
  2. There was some reference within this thread (I thought) that Jordy would be visiting this weekend. Has anyone seen a confirmed visit date?
  3. Just not one of our better efforts. We looked discombobulated the 2nd half on defense.
  4. Hot seat? Just exactly what hot seat is he on? I haven't heard any such talk, and a loss in Bloomington with 4 freshman and 2 injured players isn't going to get you there.
  5. So would it be accurate to think of Austin as a 21st century version of Andy Markowski? Haven't seen him play - what do others think?
  6. Yes - after the game, I thought, if you told me that Shavon and Ed weren't playing and Tai wasn't going to score, I would have written this game off as a certain loss.
  7. I totally agree with this and thought of that the other day. FYI, tonight's loss to Wisconsin actually follows the '86 scenario. Right after losing Hoppen, we lost to a not-so-good K-State team at home before pulling it together and upsetting a good Mizzou team on the road. Let's hope history repeats.
  8. Great scheduling pickup by Miles and team!
  9. Nebraska 74 Wisconsin 71 3 players with 10+ points. This team has character. They'll win this one for Shavon.
  10. I hope he's back soon, but this has been in the back of my mind since Saturday. Certainly his health is the first consideration. I'm glad the staff doesn't appear to be rushing things. Nobody knows for certain the severity of the injury, so with that in mind, is there a possibility Shields doesn’t return, period? “I don’t know,” Miles said. “I do not know.” http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/shields-won-t-play-at-wisconsin-return-unknown/article_9a7262fb-c954-5450-9bc7-a3a4cd04fc01.html
  11. I'd like to see some newer film before passing any judgement. Theres a reason a bunch of schools are coming in now after having a stellar senior season. Yes, the new offers speak well for Jordy. The other side of the coin is that the longer these kids wait, the more schools chase after a shrinking recruiting pool. Remember all the schools after Matthew Atewe?
  12. So, since I didn't make it down today, what players from the 90-91 team were there today?
  13. I think this deserves it's own thread. Let's pray for a quick and full recovery for Shavon - basketball or no basketball.
  14. I think this deserves it's own thread. Let's pray for a quick and full recovery for Shavon - basketball or no basketball. This post has been promoted to an article
  15. Prayers for Shavon and his family.
  16. Rutgers isn't getting any easy looks this half so far.
  17. We are playing better D now. It was practically non-existent a while ago.
  18. What is the deal with Tai? He has hardly played, if at all.
  19. Well, I'm a little surprised no one has come across this until now. Apparently Danny is serving as an assistant HS coach in the Pittsburgh area. He seemed to fall completely off the radar after leaving the Marine Academy. Now I'll have to check to see if there are any D1 prospects at Gateway. http://triblive.com/sports/kevingorman/9826149-74/nee-coach-gateway Can't help but notice that when Gorman highlights Danny's career from start to finish, that he neglects to mention his 14 year career at Nebraska. Not until the 15th or so paragraph anyway. I guess nothing counts if it was done west of the Mississippi.
