  1. I like the B10, but I would love to go back to the day of 8 team conferences. This is the perfect size for a conference, IMO. With that size, there is a better sense of kinship - and even rivalry - between schools. Geographically, schools are closer together, and finally, the ridiculous bracketing you have today goes away because there are no byes. 30 years ago, schools like Nebraska had both a regional affiliation (Big 8) and a national affiliation (NCAA). I thought it was a nice balance. With the growth of TV and media, conferences are understandably striving to have a national presence, but I think we lost something in the transition. As far as the BG10 tourney, I would be in favor of allowing only the top 8 in the final standings participate for the post season title. Somehow, I don't think that's going to happen.
  2. Phil Beckner will be on the postgame tonight. I like listening to him almost as much as I like listening to Miles.
  3. We looked a lot better tonight than last night, I thought.
  4. Nebraska wins. Iowa loses. Yes, it's been a nice day.
  5. That's twice now by Shavon. Somebody tell him he's not Tommy Armstrong.
  6. Parker to the line. 7 point lead. I'm starting to believe!
  7. What a terrrible charge call. Give me a break.
  8. Shavon! I thought for sure they would call a charge.
  9. Back to back timeouts. Timely. I think.
  10. Nice half, men! Now hold your breath, because this is usually where things turn for the worse for the team in their 2nd half of their 2nd game in 2 days, versus the fresh team going into the 2nd half of their first game.
  11. Gard looked a little irritated with his players.
  12. Vitto Brown... Illikainen... those are the recruiting battles we need to win in the future.
  13. I like him.
  14. Well, this is what happens when you get beat 3 times by Nebraska... Looking at their list of coaching candidates, I would think Hurley or King Rice would be the top 2 picks of the bunch for next Rutgers coach. https://www.nj.com/rutgersbasketball/index.ssf/2016/03/eddie_jordan_fired_as_rutgers_basketball_coach.html
  15. Exactly. Miles will be riding a tightrope the next two years. While there is some intriguing talent in the So/Jr NE high school classes, I don't know if any of these players are the type of talent that will push your program into the B10 1st division. At the same time, there will be plenty of local pressure on Miles to recruit these guys, especially if Creighton is showing interest. As you said, his job is riding on these recruiting outcomes.
  16. What was Wingett doing last summer? And what will he be doing next summer? I think he has to place himself against some respectable future D-1 level competition before we have an idea of how good he is. Particularly when he is playing against C-2 competition during the school year.
  17. So... nice kid. But is he the kind of talent that is upper-division B10 school material? That is what Miles and his staff have to ask themselves from here on out, each time they are in pursuit of someone.
  18. Nebraska is outhustling Rutgers on 3 of 4 plays.
  19. Nice hustle by Rutgers #31 after the backcourt ball out of bounds. Not.
  20. McVeigh looks a step slow in everything he does out there. Foot movement and reactions on defense.
  21. Some snippits from TM on his radio show about next year's schedule. Some of this we already know. Non-conference includes: ACC Challenge game NU will not be a participant in the Big East challenge next year. They "have a year off" Creighton Kansas Anaheim Wooden Classic Didn't mention South Dakota specifically, but when asked about a rumor that they would be opening a new arena at a school up North, TM said "definitely not". TM closed by saying that while we had 6 lower-level opponents on this past year's schedule, we'll more likely have 2-3 this coming year.
