I got bored with the football game last night and switched to the end of the Mich State/Washington game to see if the Huskies could reach the degree of ineptitude shown by the Huskers against Sparty (they tried but failed to succeed). Anyway, I was rewarded by noting Villhelm (who is featured in Lindy's with a photo this year) is as gawky as ever (I still like him) and seeing one of the infrequent baskets by Nick Sanders (who is Barry's son and a redshirt for Izzo) and Christian King (who is Rich's son and second year redshirt for Sprinkle). And I believe I just set the HHC record for number of parentheses (7) in a single post. (So, there's that.) Also, that shows there are more interesting things to do than smoke cigarettes and watch Captain Kangaroo.

We'll just have to see what happens with Gavin, but the sports (and real) world is filled with people who tried and tried and failed and failed but persisted and eventually succeeded. One example is Gene Hackman who was told many times he did not have the looks or ability to become an actor but kept trying to get a break and eventually morphed into... Coach Norman Dale.

Don't forget Little Bill Daggett in " Unforgiven", one of my favorites. It is interesting that he reportedly thought "Hoosiers" would be a huge flop, proving he is a much better actor than judge of movies. Also, according to a report I happened upon this morning, his friend Dustin Hoffman persuaded him to persist after he couldn't find work after acting school.

My dad looked like Gene, back in the day when they both had hair and a moustache.🙂

This is "The Conversation" erasure and I will not stand for it!
--also "The Poseidon Adventure", "The French Connection", "Bonnie and Clyde", "Superman" (1 and 2), "Young Frankenstein", "French Connection II", "Night Moves", "Reds"...and a couple of dozen other movies all starring Hackman before "Hoosiers".

(I approve of the parenthetical (as I also tend to abuse them))

I'm just glad it was on Peacock. I listened to it on radio and turned it off after I heard Kent say we won on a buzzer beater and went to bed happy!

Two more sage predictions and I am then forgetting this game: 1. Neither Sandfort will ever score 27 points in one half again. 2. (Barring unforeseen injuries) Nebraska will win its last regular season game with Iowa to gain some momentum going into the tournaments.
