  1. My guess is Kansas and Louisville will be the first two to kick it off, since the NCAA has been conducting a prostate exam on both schools since before the FBI thing ever came up. They may just nuke L'Ville with everything they've done the past several years.
  2. There's always the possibility that it is Bolt, and he's locked up already, but they're holding off to announce during the CWS.
  3. Here's a list of some of the teams going to Italy (there are even more going to Europe, in general): Baylor 8/14 – 8/24 BYU 8/16 – 8/26 Clemson 6/29 – 7/13 DePaul 8/3 – 8/14 Houston 8/8 – 8/17 Illinois 8/4 – 8/14 Iowa State 8/10 – 8/20 Miami (FL) 8/9 – 8/18 Minnesota 8/3 – 8/13 Nebraska 8/3 – 8/13 Northern Iowa 8/1 – 8/11 Northwestern 8/19 – 8/31 Pittsburgh 8/5 – 8/14 Seton Hall 8/7 – 8/16 Stanford 8/18 – 8/27 Syracuse 8/10 – 8/20 Washington 8/12 – 8/22
  4. If these were open to the public (??) it wouldn't be a terrible idea. Flights to Italy are super cheap right now, and there are a ton of schools doing one of these trips this year. It would be during the seasonal lull, but a hoophead would have plenty of "sights" to see.
  5. I think the rules* state that if the player has to sit out the following semester, they have to sit out the trip. So unless they get Stevenson approved I think he may have to sit as well. * Going totally off the memory of skimming through this rule several weeks ago. I could go check, but ...
  6. I'll be absolutely stoked when we land a consensus top-50... I don't even want to imagine the scene if we ever land a top-25 or top-10 prospect. Total madness. A recent Clarke mixtape... for those so inclined:
  7. 247 has Cross as a ZERO-star. What?? They have Cam Mack as our second-lowest-rated commit (not counting transfers). That's rated below (in order) Yvan, Samari, Jervay, and Akol. Double-what?? He might be our best player. And yet, we still ended up with the 42nd-ranked class. That's not shabby. Now if only they had spent some time and truly evaluated Cross and Mack (and ranked them appropriately), we'd probably be mid-30s. Which would be outstanding for a first class, put together in a month. As I asked at the close of the Spring Signing Period... if this is what we get in a super-abbreviated year one... WTF is the ceiling?
  8. You sure that wasn't an AAU or HS coach? Otherwise, I don't think Boeheim would publicly comment on an unsigned recruit like that*. *Unless I'm missing some sarcasm/joke... then never mind.
  9. Meanwhile, everyone's favorite Husker coaching candidate, will be looking to vacuum up every player not committed somewhere else, since Oregon barely has enough guys for a starting lineup next season... https://www.ducksports.com/sports/20190607/oregon-ducks-mens-basketball-in-mix-for-couple-transfer-possibilities
  10. Worked himself into a quality shooter, then fell off a cliff.
  11. It's probably only because, while he was spending all his time massaging egos with the Bulls, he didn't get a chance to scout HS prospect Jeriah Horne... ?? I think Kev definitely has the better skills (vs Yvan) right now. So we'll see what Fred values more... the heft that Drogo brings or the skillset that Cross provides. Who knows, maybe he'll play Stevenson or Kavas at the 5, and Cross/Drogo get limited mins as frosh. I can't wait until we start seeing this whole puzzle being put together.
  12. Grinding out here in June... (may want to mute (NSFW))...
  13. Coach Hoiberg appeared on the Goodman podcast*. * Cross-posting in this "Hoiberg Love" thread since the stickies seem to get a bit forgotten about.
  14. I think it's much stronger in college football. Which, I'm guessing, is where they got the idea to see if the same was true in basketball.
  15. Or listen via Apple Podcasts. This was a pretty standard Hoiberg media appearance. Nothing too earth-shattering. Although, at the end he was asked if Izzo went easy on Jack when Fred watched practice. He said no that Izzo "jumped up his ass" and it "was awesome". I LOL'd. 16. According to what he said during his media availability, Lutz is the one that put this schedule together. But yeah, I have zero problem with the schedule this year since my expectations are nonexistent. If we even get close-to-the-bubble talk in year one, it's all gravy.
  17. I second-guessed using it because of the major distractions in the background.
  18. From the OWH... “I typed in, ‘What to expect Lincoln, Nebraska,’ ” Virgilio said through a thick Italian accent from his new office at the Hendricks Training Complex. The first link that popped up was a short clip from “Yes Man.” ... yikes. The rest of the article is interesting though, if you missed it. Said clip...
  19. Especially since it seems like Moos is looking to stomp on necks every time he has the chance. He's playing no games and angling for a statue. That being said, all his hires could go belly-up... but on paper they've all been incredibly impressive. He doesn't lack in aggressiveness, and I doubt he'll suddenly get humble with this coach search.
  20. Looks like Doc might have helped out in the scheduling.
  21. (beer & sprinklers dot gif) Dayum. You're good! And you didn't post a single friggin emoji in there either. Dude is a warlock.
  22. It may be because I'm following every single move and news piece too closely... but I feel like I could be qualified to give the Hoiberg interview to any media outlet requesting access. Fred, if you need a stand-in (to spend more time on the recruiting you love), let me know.
