  1. Allen Field House is a special place no doubt. My buddy tutored the team back in '90 and got us seats right behind the Huskers bench. All the Jayhawk students kept yelling, "Hey Lively, why don't you live'n up your team?"
  2. Looks like Baylor's recruiting "tactics" are paying off. If SMU got the death penalty back in the day, what do you do with that mess down in Waco?
  3. I remember when I was at "the U" and would get all fired up when the Big 8 tournament started. I was always certain we would get hot and win that thing while my friends (sane people) would roll their eyes and look on me sympathetically. I guess some things never change...
  4. Any Paul Velander reference MUST be acknowledged...
  5. Missed lay ups, missed free throws, unforced turnovers, silly fouls. Blah ,blah, blah..... At the end of that game I wanted to take an ice pick and shove it in my temple.
  6. Slightly off topic... Q: How many Packer fans does it take to change a light bulb? A: 10 - 1 to change the light bulb, 1 to tap the keg, and 8 of em' to talk about how good the old light bulb was.
  7. Me passed out in a booth at O'Rourke's after we lose to Louisville in the sweet 16...
  8. It's fun to speculate and throw darts in the dark, but as we know, these roster spots have a way of sorting themselves out. Thank God at least we have options & bodies. I love me some Sek Henry & Cookie Miller, but 10 years ago if you would have told me players would be transferring in from KU and Georgetown I would have guessed you had an affinity for Robitussen...
  9. Hard to watch us go toe to toe with these clowns for virtually the WHOLE game, and then spit the bit down the stretch. Hopefully the effort we're layin' out there will start paying off in the form of Ws.
  10. Based on Gill's performance this year (or lack thereof) he has ALOT of ground to make up when it comes to the returnees AND all of the incoming talent. Wouldn't surprise me if he was on the move again ala' Mr. White.
  11. If Anton Gill is Jose Ramos does that mean........ you're right , I won't go there.
  12. The last time someone called me "Bright" I think I was still being served Grahm Crackers and Kool-Aide before we got the nap mats out.
  13. Has Miles had a secret meeting with the players where he calls Eichorst a homosexual?
  14. Every season and team is different. I think it's about attitude and expectations. Miles has spoken before about the "Little Engine that Could" mentality and all of that BS.He more than anyone is done with that. He is establishing something here, a mindset, that when you come to Nebraska you don't hope to compete, or make a good showing, you EXPECT to win. I think slowly but surely this is happening. P.S. Doc's team with Talley and JBD should have made the Tourney. Still saddens me they didn't.
  15. AWIII had 24 for the Orange the other day in what I believe was a win. Now would he have started at the 2 or the 3 for us this year..... just kidding
  16. Of course it is, but after what saw yesterday, and have seen most of this year, the days of Bo Spencer and a handful of Weslyan players are OVER. And to all these yahoos around town who thought Miles was on the hot seat or should even be fired, ask yourself, did Doc (God Bless him) or Barry ever bring in any talent like this? Certainly not this many at once.
  17. Yesterday's win sent my mind whirling ahead as to what might be, and of course that always brings us to: what might the starting line-up look like next year? I'll take a crack. Watson Horne Jordy Jacobson Morrow That's some quick gaurds with some range, a bruising front line, and Evan, Jack, Isiah and the newcomers off the bench. I haven't even pulled the cork yet today and I'd say that looks pretty formidable.
  18. I did predict Purdue to score 80, I just didn't think we'd hit 83. What an absolutely MAN sized effort and win. Now, lets...keep...it...rollin'!
  19. A gutty, gutty win by a bunch of kids who had a level of "WANT TO" that Purdue wasn't ready for. GBR baby!
  20. I mistook Smotherman for Swanigan - looks like I'm the dork
  21. Holly Hannah, I better get my bookie on the phone. Basil Rathbone OUT and Morrow back IN (maybe). Old Mo' could be wearin' the white jersey today.
  22. Do you think when Bill was walking off the court yesterday in Lexington he was thinking, just "WHAT IF" I had taken that job at NU? Dare to dream...
