  1. Well I've seen Creighton, KU, Goldy & the Spartans all play on the television, and their collective big men scare the HELL out of me, especially MSU & MN. We're going to need Doobie and Isaac to have some MAN sized games in order to eek out a win or two(?) I expect nothing out of Jordy until he proves otherwise.
  2. If our squad was a little saltier, I'd be all in favor of a tough Non-conference schedule, ala' what Cook and Erstad always do. The Basketball program isn't where those two are though, and I hope that upcoming stretch of highly ranked teams doesn't knock the wind out of our sails. Hopefully I'm wrong, we can win this thing in Orlando, get a "W" in Omaha, and see what happens with KU and the start of B1G play.
  3. Well, I'll put the cart WAY ahead of the horse. Bring on the Redstorm! I want another crack at those Melon Farmers.
  4. That was your "St. John's game" you'll bounce back...
  5. Cornhuskers 70 - Former employer of Scott Frost 62 3
  6. That was me being "ironically" funny, like a hipster mustache.
  7. I respectively disagree, Petteway and Pitchord's shooting has no relation or bearing on the way Palmer or Watson shoot. You can only "Coach 'em Up" so much, then raw ability and talent have to take over.
  8. Take a deep breath and remember it's a small sample size, and a 28% shooting night is REALLY going to skew your numbers.
  9. God bless you for remembering that, for you kind Sir have spoken like a true Husker fan. Of COURSE we would have beaten MBC if we would - have - JUST - had Cookie Miller! I love it. The Basketball gods had yet again aligned against us, North Dakota will not be granted the same good fortune tomorrow.
  10. I'll say VERY, and I still cringe when I think of Crean coaching here in Lincoln.
  11. Gardener-Webb, Samford, Incarnate Word, Maryland -Eastern Shore (where ever that is) are on a short list that doesn't need any additions.
  12. If we don't win this one you might as well board up the PBA and just get it over with...
  13. BTW Dean, I have to compliment you on that Magic photo. Fantastic. Lots of folks remember when he scored 42 as a rookie, game 6 at the Spectrum. But, most don't recall one Jamaal Wilkes had 37 the same game. Go Lakers, and GBR!
  14. REALLY? Alphaville over Bob Dylan...I weep for the youth of today
  15. I've heard that Coach Riley stays at the Embassy Suites, can't say that I blame him.
  16. Cornhuskers 68 - Fighting Hawks (Sioux) 60, since this ISN'T hockey I like our chances...
  17. This notion was raised in the post-game chatter and I agree. Whether Jordy has regressed or still hurt, he has become a liability on the court. He still brings the ball down when it's kicked inside or worse yet tries to put it on the floor. Yes it's nice to have the "spark" that Roby brings when coming off the bench, but he's too versatile and too talented to not be more of a factor. Will this cure all of our ills. No, but it's a start. And as someone else also mentioned, we're only going to go as far as Glynn Watson takes us.
  18. Allen 2 of 6, Gill 2 of 13, Watson 2 of 14, it's almost surprising we shot 28%. Oh, and BTW, can anyone play with their back to the basket or attempt a low post move?
  19. Tentative, slow, out hustled, out worked, out scored in the paint, settled for 3s. Did I miss anything?
  20. How 'bout a frontline of Jordy, Isaac, and Isiah? POUND that rock inside and OWN the lane. Let's get Jim and Evan up those little 3 pointer shooters and shut them DOWN. Like Miles said in the paper , we have to pick our spots on the fastbreak and not get in a track meet. Take advantage of our size, keep this thing in the 60s or 70s and we'll walk out with a win.
  21. I think it's common sense to practice where you play on a frequent basis, then I always think back on the "Hoosiers" scene when Gene Hackman has the boys measure the height of the rim before the State Tournament. It always comes down to what Coach Miles once said,"I don't need more shooters, I need more makers".
  22. Jordy ,Isaach, Duby, Isiah and the rest of the Big Red better be ready for MSU and their big guys, cuz they can flat out PLAY. Smooth, run the floor, agile Alot of the things will have to go right to get that win.
  23. If Nana really is a gunner in the Ray Richardson/T. Buchanan vain maybe that's what gets him on the floor and earns him primo minutes.
  24. I stood right beside Pooh Richardson at the 1990 Draft Party when the Wolves drafted Felton Spencer out of Louisville and all Pooh said was,"Oh s**t!"
