  1. Probably coaches an AAU team that is heavily $ponsored by Adidas.
  2. Wait... YOU SAID ALTMAN'S COMING?
  3. You must miss Craig Smith.
  4. It depends how many $1 bills it's going to take.
  5. I just don't want to be sitting here 18 years from now thinking "Should we finally invest in a basketball coaching staff that can get us better results than 16 winning seasons and 2 NCAA appearances over the past 36 years?"
  6. What's even more depressing is looking at the overall records of past coaches. You can argue strength of schedule/RPI differences, but as I posted in its own thread all of the coaches (less Danny Nee) had very very similar metrics: Tim Miles: 2 of 6 seasons above 0.500 (33%) Doc Sadler: 4 of 6 (67%) Barry Collier: 2 of 6 (33%) Danny Nee: 11 of 14 (79%)
  7. My opinion on Miles' extended contract drastically changes depending on the validity of this news. And the fact that it weighs so heavily on his staff is concerning. But hey, he's adapted before and has found replacements that work. This one brought us such a good pipeline of players though. Let's hope the current pipeline doesn't defect.
  8. Couldn't think of any place to put it but I just noticed that the Frozen Four this year consisted of 3 of 4 Big Ten teams. Sure, I don't feel good about including Notre Dame in there either. Nonetheless. Moral of the story is that I'd be happy to see Nebraska move up from a club league and start playing in the big leagues.
  9. Sure beats this: To this: And then to this:
  10. Yeah I'm thinking that might be the case too. And to me, Moos also seems more of an incentive-based/results person. He might be giving him a short leash and seeing how things play out. But a 97-97 (46-62) record probably doesn't land him too many places in the top or middle half of any power conference. Even with a tourney run next season. So unless he sees a place like Nevada or Those Island as a better opportunity, he's likely focusing his resources at succeeding at Nebraska.
  11. It might all hinge on how Moos and Miles structure this new contract.
  12. Steak N' Shake, Chick-fil-A... fine. But what I don't understand is how The Cheesecake Factory has been on Lincolnites' most-desired-to-have restaurant list for the last 5 or so years. That place is atrocious. http://journalstar.com/entertainment/dining/lincoln-s-most-requested-restaurants/collection_b470c630-a076-5993-9fe0-032b2822ed6c.html
  13. Can we merge this thread with the other "why didn't UNL take the Warren Buffet Coca-Cola contract?" A vendor paid more and that's clearly what the UNL departments care about.
  14. @royalfan you might actually be able to watch some quality Delware State and Marist games in the near future https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2018/03/06/marist-fires-mens-basketball-coach-mike-maker-and-his-staff/32663631/ https://www.delawareonline.com/story/sports/college/ud/2018/02/22/walker-reportedly-out-delaware-state-basketball-coach/363355002/
  15. There have been 49 job openings so far this season: https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/college-basketball-coaching-carousel-plenty-of-college-jobs-still-remain-open-heres-what-to-know/
  16. But at least he announced about half of our Big Ten games. Sure beats taking any substance from what Lunardi said, when he likely watched 1-3 of our games all season (likely no games before 2018).
  17. I don't know how I feel about playing Wagner in the 2nd round...
  18. He would like that, wouldn't he?
  19. I would've done much better had I not picked Nebraska to win it all.
  20. FWIW, here's what it looks like this season: Regular Season: Teams Under 50% Big Ten: 6 (42% of conference) ACC: 3 (20%) Big East: 2 (20%) Pac-12: 2 (16%) SEC: 2 (14%) Big 12: 1 (10%) Conference: Teams Under 50% Big 12: 5 (50%) Big Ten: 7 (50%) SEC: 7 (50%) Pac-12: 5 (41%) ACC: 6 (40%) Big East: 3 (30%) Entire Season: Teams Under 50% Big Ten: 6 (42%) ACC: 3 (20%) Big East: 2 (20%) Pac-12: 2 (16%) SEC: 2 (14%) Big 12: 1 (10%) I don't know why I dug into this further. It just gets more and more depressing. If you look only at the middle teams in each conference and see how they performed, this is what you get: Regular Season: Middle Teams Under 50% Big Ten: 1 ACC: 0 Big 12: 0 Big East: 0 SEC: 0 Pac-12: 0 Conference: Middle Teams Under 50% Big 12: 2 Big Ten: 2 SEC: 2 Pac-12: 1 ACC: 1 Big East: 0 Entire Season: Middle Teams Under 50% Big Ten: 1 ACC: 0 Big 12: 0 Big East: 0 SEC: 0 Pac-12: 0
  21. Just did a double take and it looks like Creighton actually was 2-9 for Selection Sunday, per NCAA team sheets: https://extra.ncaa.org/solutions/rpi/Stats Library/Selection Sunday - Team Sheets.pdf?Mobile=1&Source=%2Fsolutions%2Frpi%2F_layouts%2F15%2Fmobile%2Fviewa.aspx%3FList%3D6042e1d3%2D70e4%2D49fd%2Dba51%2D8a8d813f8344%26View%3D9c6a45d0%2D60f8%2D4f6e%2D810b%2D8f57e042a3a9%26ViewMode%3DSimple%26PageFirstRow%3D41
  22. Per the AWIII law, I'm certainly going to wait until after June 26.
