The book of Vucetic is far from written. I'm not exactly a scout, but I see a lot more potential than many here. When he gets the ball where he's supposed to get it, he's got some decent moves. The weight room and practice will help him get to that spot more. The lack of coordination is a little more problematic, but I think some of it is because he's still growing into his body. NBA caliber 7 footers have superior coordination and athletic ability naturally. That's such a small fraction. Most 7 footers don't have that and need to work hard on their development and coordination to become quality players. I believe that if Vucetic is willing to keep putting in the work, be it at Nebraska or somewhere else, he can become a quality player before it's all said and done. He would definitely be getting more game minutes at a lower-tier D1 school though. That's a decision that he will have to make though.

HHCC - Predict Husker Win Total

That Comer kid is still playing, isn't he? If so than Benny Parker might just be what the doctor ordered. I would assume you would want a very good on-the-ball defender running with him for as many minutes as possible. Peltz is more physical, but I would think this one would be more of a Parker type of matchup. I'm sure both will play.

Completely agree, Norm. Insiders who use their information in negative ways really annoy me. I have also seen them make entire message boards obnoxious and virtually unreadable. I actually know a guy who gives me a pretty detailed inside look at our program on a weekly basis. In all reality, we just like to talk football. He trusts me with the information and I don't blab about it or make cryptic statements. I couldn't even imagine posting some of the stuff that's going on with our football program out of respect for the coaching staff and the players. No doubt about it though, Norm. A couple of those boys over on the Rivals board have inside information from pretty high up the chain, I know one of those guys personally. When they post, it takes the fun out of guessing. At any rate, I know absolutely 0 from what goes on behind the scenes with our basketball program. I'm just a big fan and love the tone of the board. Best basketball board out there by far.

I don't do it for a primary living, but I gamble a lot guys. An awful lot. You would be shocked about the amount of money you can sling around in Omaha. There are some pretty large outfits here. None of it out in the open of course. Of course, I make trips to Vegas quite often, too. Probably 4 or 5 times a year. I personally don't go offshore anymore. Right out of college, I did the whole offshore thing every day, pretty much for a job while I sorted out my career. It was great while it lasted, but as the government cracked down, you just got jerked around too much. I'm a very analytical when it comes to gambling. Stats, sabermetrics, algorithms etc. All about the process and odds. There is definitely a human element into it though, especially when predicting teams tanking and such. Like the Texans....I knew early on in the NFL season that they would tank their season. Not everyone is analytical though. I know an NFL guy who goes completely by gut and is an incredible gambler. Most guys I know are more like me though. Also, one thing that I have learned is gambling takes all bias out. I hated Tom Brady in high school...I would make friendly bets against him just because I rooted against him internally. It's kind of disappointing at times. I usually know when a Bo Pelini Nebraska team is going to take one on the chin. It's a money thing though, it's business. So you sit and watch Nebraska get slaughtered by Wisconsin with an empty feeling inside even though you cashed a big paycheck. It kind of sucks in a weird sort of way. Anyway, I don't claim to be a big shot, I still got legit things I do for income. I'm not good enough to live the lifestyle I want to live. Plus, when you have a young child, gambling for a living might not be a lifestyle you want to live. I just wanted to chime in on the subject. For the record, Creighton is soft and has been soft for quite some time. I'm not really trying to talk crap about Creighton here, I respect what you guys are doing and all that, but softness is like a disease. It's hard to get rid of and it has infected your program for quite some time now. Many programs have the same thing though. I also think Nebraska matches up really well with Creighton this year. Experience and home court are a pretty insurmountable advantage though. I would be willing to be that the NU-CU game is a lot closer than most people think. Thanks for listening....or reading.

Hammond & Wacker, Interested in Opinions
Busch Light replied to MandRHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I personally like Wacker an awful lot. Agree with The Coach, Wacker is a lot further developed than Ubel in high school. If we get Wacker up here and get him in the weight room for a year, I think by his sophomore year he will at the same level as Ubel was as a senior. That wouldn't be bad at all if that holds true, would it? I do think he has a ceiling on his potential, but I think he will reach his potential pretty early and be a solid 4 year player for us. -
Oh snap! I will take one if it's still going on. I'd even pay for it. I like it hot btw, the hotter the better!

Nebraska finally got a break? How bizarre! Also just so happens to be New Zealand's top selling pop song of all time FYI. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2cMG33mWVY

Nice! I was always a big Expos and now Nats fan as well.

CoachMiles: Had the fellas over tonight...

Haha, for sure! You know he rocks them sockless, too. -
This Ohio State team is so mentally tough. They are going to be tough to beat.

It's funny that they are all of the sudden going to have the same problems that Nebraska has. That is, not a lot of regional talent, the need to recruit nationally, etc. They are going to come to realize that it's a lot harder to be in a good conference in a low-talent region. Yeah, they will struggle for a while all right. Hhcdimes is right though, it's a no-brainer move and gives them a higher ceiling. It may take a while, but they do have a good A.D. and they are dedicated to winning. Guess we will see. I hate to be cynical, but I'm going to revere in seeing the smug smiles wiped off their fans' faces when they realize how big of jump it actually is the first several years.

I love Sam Mckewon, but that's a clown statement, bro.

I'm hearing it's pretty much a done deal. I was at a bar in Omaha last night and I heard several Creighton fans talk as if this new conference was going to be the gold standard of college basketball. I do think it will be a good basketball conference, but the Big East power programs are all pretty much leaving. Leave it to Creighton fans, right? If I were a Creighton fan who understands just how poor of a coach Greg McDermott was at Iowa State, I wouldn't be getting much sleep at night, that's for sure. That guy is going to be in over his head. Anyway, I may dislike Creighton but I am not going to hate. It's good for there program, they should be happy they get a chance to move. I'm just not sure it's going to end well for them or be as glamorous as they think.

Completely agree. We could get Ray 3 or 4 more wide open shots a game in transition if we worked harder at it. Sometimes he's not in the right spots streaking on the breaks.
