  1. Exactly, the guy doesn't work here anymore and likely won't in the future. The problem anyone has with a 10 page thread on Tim Miles is that Fred Hoiberg has underperformed so much that it exists.
  2. It's pretty natural that the next coach you hire is strong in the area in which your previous coach was deficient. Thus I'd look for us to hire an established coach known for culture and/or teams that play hard as opposed to an up and coming assistant type.
  3. Pearson has a mentoring/coaching background in addition to the radio stuff so he's the sort of person that if you know him and you're going through something, you can reach out and he's going to talk you through it. It so happens that AS has a weekly radio show with him. Pearson as someone who isn't your team or your parents is certainly someone you'd call.
  4. Can we get Hoiberg to slap Chris Collins tomorrow?

  6. It's a little difficult to exactly figure out what is going on because Pearson is mostly trying to convey he's just mad about how the university has handled this and thus you find yourself not trying to fill in any of the blanks he might have left. It would seem as though per someone on the team(perhaps Scoggin herself) to him that during the trip to Penn St. that Scoggin went to Love's room, Love left the room, and Scoggin was discovered In Love's room by someone else, and that nothing happened. He doesn't say why Scoggin went to his room, why he left, who found this out, and if anything had happened prior to this trip. I don't know if he's not filling the rest in because he doesn't know and/or he's trying to tread lightly. I guess the couple of things it's safe to assume here is that the CL and AS not being currently active with the team is, in fact, related and AS no longer being on the roster isn't her choice.
  7. Seems like Derrick Pearson is in the know on this https://api.podcache.net/episodes/d2367348-0f7f-428d-82bf-4b48fbd7d0b2/stream.mp3 https://redcircle.com/shows/old-school-w-dp-and-jay-93-7-the-ticket-kntk/episodes/d2367348-0f7f-428d-82bf-4b48fbd7d0b2 It would seem as this might be slightly less scandalous than one might naturally infer. One thing that seems certain is that AS was removed from the roster against her wishes.
  8. Put him on my list. All the guy does is win
  9. Probably not Kyle Smith at WSU but Kyle Smith has been pretty impressive

  11. Chippy former players is Michigan's bag these days.
  12. Anyone have any idea who runs the offense? It's also bad.
  13. This isn't some ACC pizza school operation we're running here.
  14. Bryce McGowens having a historically good season while Nebraska has a historically bad season. Nebraska Post-Game Notes Bryce McGowens scored a game-high 25 points for his ninth 20-point game of the season. McGowens’ nine 20-point games are just one shy of the most 20-point games by a freshman in Nebraska history (Joe McCray, 10 in 2004-05). The scoring effort also marked McGowens’ fourth game of the season with at least 25 points. McGowens was 14-of-15 from the free throw line. His 14 free throws matched his career high, as he also had 14 free throws on 18 attempts against Rutgers on Jan. 29. McGowens now has 437 points, which is second on NU’s all-time freshmen list, as he passed Joe McCray (432, 2004-05). He trails only Dave Hoppen (445, 1982-83) on NU’s all-time freshman list. Alonzo Verge Jr. scored 14 points and added five rebounds and five assists. Verge scored in double figures for the 18th time this season. C.J. Wilcher chipped in 10 points, his 10th game in double figures this season. It marked the 17th double-figure game from a Husker bench player this season. The Huskers out-rebounded Maryland 34-33, marking just the third time this season and second time in Big Ten play that Nebraska has out-rebounded its opponent. Nebraska was 25-of-31 from the free throw line. The Huskers’ 25 made free throws were their most in a Big Ten game this season and were one shy of Nebraska’s overall season high of 26 free throws against Sam Houston on Nov. 21. Maryland’s 24 made free throws tied for the most free throws by an opposing team at Pinnacle Bank Arena, while the Terrapins’ 33 free throw attempts were the most by an opponent at PBA. Wisconsin held the previous records with 24 free throws on 31 attempts against the Huskers at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Feb. 10, 2015. Maryland committed just four turnovers, a low by a Husker opponent this year (previous low was 8 by Auburn). NU entered the game ranking second in the Big Ten by forcing 14.4 turnovers per game. Nebraska Coach Fred Hoiberg On Nebraska’s second-half start “Yeah that is where we lost the game in those first few minutes of the second half. I think they went on a 12-3 run. You have to come out with that fire and energy and try and grab the momentum when it is a tight game. I thought we did some really good things offensively in the first half, and when they go on their run that’s when we come down and try to get it back. It’s been several times now that we had control, and then they come out in the second half and completely take the momentum back.” On how Maryland was successful in the second half “It was turnovers and our misses at the rim. In those two areas, they converted almost every time. When we turned it over, they converted on the other end. Shots at the rim which we missed several of, they got us on the other end as well. Those are two areas that they used to extend their lead.” Nebraska Guard Bryce McGowens On the difference between the first and second half “I feel like we did not come out with a lot of energy on the defensive end, and they just got rolling.” On if the number of foul calls affected their rhythm “I would not say that the fouls took us out of rhythm. It was a very physical game today, and I feel like a lot of turnovers on our end got us out of rhythm.” On getting to the line 15 times “I just felt like I could get downhill, draw fouls and try to put some points on the board. I was just trying to get us rolling.” Maryland Interim Head Coach Danny Manning Opening Statement “Obviously any time you can go on the road in this conference and get a win it is always rewarding just because it is so hard to come by. I thought our guys did a really good job initially feeding the ball inside to our big guys. I thought they established themselves scoring the basketball and giving us a really good post presence. The one thing that I was shocked by to be honest was when the game was over we only had four turnovers. We know Nebraska leads the league in forced turnovers with how they pressure the basketball and the pace that they play at so for us to take care of the ball against that type of pressure was really good for us. We had a lot of guys score the ball for us which is always good. I think our bigs set the tone early. Not a lot of time to celebrate the win because we have a quick turnaround and play again on Monday.” On senior guard Eric Ayala “Just his presence. It is another guy who is used to extended minutes for us. He did not have a great game in terms of scoring the basketball. He is our leading scorer, but his presence down the stretch against their press making sure we got the ball to the right guys was really big for us because he was a calming factor for us because we kind of lost our focus for about two to three minutes span. Picked up a technical foul and we were not as disciplined defensively playing defense with our head up and our feet. Having him out there settled us down. Always nice to get your leading scorer back, but also a veteran presence with a lot of experience.”
  15. Of course Sam Houston St is the one opponent the basketball team can beat
  16. Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-18) vs Maryland Terrapins (11-14) Date: Friday, Feb 18, 2022 Time: 8 pm Arena: PBA Broadcast: BTN Maryland Info Head Coach: Danny ManningLocation: College Park, MDConference: B1G 10Nickname: Terrapins, TerpsMascots: Testudo KenPom rank: 91 Point Spread: Maryland by 7.5 Depth: 8+ Other: In case you missed it, Mark Turgeon resigned earlier in the year The Skinny: Maryland is an underachieving inconsistent team. Picked to finish in the top 4 of the conference, they've had their moments in big wins over Illinois and Florida. Everything else? It's been a mess. Turgeon was holding this thing together and Danny Manning is no Mark Turgeon. The inconsistent nature of this team makes one think about the inconsistency of Nebraska under Fred Hoiberg....not great. Nebraska, like all inconsistent teams, tends to bounce back after getting their teeth kicked in and they probably will tonight. Maryland, they play well on the road sometimes and sometimes they don't You're truly gambling tonight if you're betting on which team will let the other one win. Likely the team hitting 3s win it. Let's pray it's Nebraska. Prediction: Nebraska 74 - Maryland 70 View full article

  18. Walker has graduated. I assume Trey will. Grad transfers can transfer without redshirting.
  19. That's not at all what's going on there; it's a series of firings to boost Lee Enterprise's stock.
  20. It's wild to see roster continuity brought up as a reason to keep Fred as we've been recruiting the entire year like we're going to flip it.
  21. We were in every game we played in football. As someone who disagree how he portrayed the start of both seasons I find myself agreeing with a lot of what he might have to say as the season progresses. Is Fred willing to make big changes? Is Fred willing to change his contract to bet on himself?
  22. Depends on how realistic he is at the 3 or 4
