  1. say we beat maryland, are we on the last 8 out?
  2. he's gotten a raw deal here. he's a legit player. scored 24ppg in high school and won a state title. happy to see him finally getting a chance.
  3. would be nice if miles would at least tell us why he's suspended. we're about to start 2 walk-on in a big ten tournament game...and we have no explanation why nana isn't playing.
  4. interesting that ND St actually had more starters from nebraska than UNO. griesel could be really good by the time he is a senior.
  5. any chance of nana or allen coming back wednesday?
  6. i think we got about the best draw possible considering we finished 2nd to last in the conference. 3-0 should be realistic if we play like we did today.
  7. i would say we'd have an outside chance at the play-in game if we make it to the semis. we'd have 2 more q1 wins if we beat wis/md. that'd be 2 more than the other schools on your list assuming they don't get any in their conference tourney. we could be screwed if the committee factors in the copeland injury when making selections. but we have to beat rutgers first...
  8. yes. at this exact time last year. and there were allegedly a bunch of other coaches too. ncaa seems to be looking the other way at least for now.
  9. didn't this happen last year with sean miller and he's still coaching?
  10. heard some words were exchanged between nana and miles at a recent practice, and it got pretty heated.
  11. what's the point of this article? everyone and their mother knows miles is gone. moos gave him a year to prove himself and he failed. plain and simple. blame it on the injury or jordy or whatever, miles failed this season and it was an all or nothing this season. anyone who is defending miles at this point is just wasting their time.
  12. why? miles will be gone and there's 3-4 open starting spots next year.
  13. wisconsin made a great coaching hire in 1995 that lead them to a final four and have been riding that success all the way until now. gotta get the right coach to start building something.
  14. no clue, but if the alternative is a .500 coach from the mountain west with no tourney wins, i'd go with scheyer.
  15. thoughts on jon scheyer? associate head coach at duke right now. is he the coach k successor or would he consider taking another job?
  16. recruited better talent. made the tournament. won the 2nd most regular season games in our history. i'd take those things over whatever collier/sadler did.
  17. he did do better than the previous 2 coaches, but not good enough to warrant an 8th season here.
  18. we're 2-8 without copeland. hard for me to imagine a world where we go 5-0 in the big10 tournament.
  19. the problem is that we aren't even competitive right now. 5 of our last 8 games have been 15+ point losses. miles has done himself no favors with these blowout losses. i'm not expecting us to land a big time coach, but it's hard for me to imagine we will hire someone with an equal or worse resume than miles, sadler, collier. the program is in a much better place right now than when those guys were hired. facilities, arena, private jets, top 10 attendance, big10 conf, and more available money to hire a good coach.
  20. if you think about it, this is really bill moos first chance to make 'his' hire. frost was coming as long as eichorst wasn't here. it wasn't really moos' choice.
  21. bernie's going to make college free.
  22. but the sad part is we have left an open scholarship every single year.
  23. say you owned a business where you hired a bunch of employees to deal with your customers. your employees bring a random navy seal into the workplace to deal with the customers instead of the employees you hired. that wouldn't bother you?
  24. i've spoken to people that have worked for coaching search firms. according to them, one of lincoln's biggest selling points is that it's a safe place to raise a family. obviously money is a big factor. but if the coach isn't currently raising a family, lincoln isn't a very attractive destination to coach/live. if you believe this, it's going to be very difficult to get someone like hoiberg, alford, matta who already have adult kids and are financially well off. callahan, pelini, frost, sadler, miles all had young kids when they took the job and moved to lincoln. riley being the exception.
