I was told the Erstad was offered the job but did not accept. And that Eichorst has not spoken with him since he decided to interview. I have not been a huge fan of Erstad up to this point, I actually think he would end up being a pretty darn good MLB coach as opposed to a college coach...but, it would have been bad timing if he left us.

After all we heard how Cole Huff was the best thing since sliced bread he looks awfully like your typical MWC player. I don't think we match up very well with Creighton, especially on their home court but once again they hype doesn't meet the eye. The Big East looks pretty mediocre this year so they should be able to finish middle tier.

Tai has always done alright against mid major times. Once we start playing Big Ten play or high majors like Nova he has been a liability. We need him to perform when it counts the most.

Big East hasn't done well in the OOC so far. Illinois should have beaten Providence as well. Had Rutgers not choked, and had Illinois not missed a wide open tip dunk, the Big East would only have 1 win vs the B10 (Nova over NU which was expected). Wisconsin plays GTown tonight so another good chance for a B10 win. Long Beach State beat Seton Hall last night too. Wiscy -2 over GTown today. Watched most of the Rutgers game...I think Deshawn Freeman is someone we should have gone after out of the JUCO ranks. He would have fit in well with this team. I know we scouted him but never pulled thru with an offer.

Another solid day for the Big Ten....Indiana throttles krayton, Iowa dismantles Marquette. Marquette has not looked good the few games I've watched them now...but I may be wrong on Iowa. They could be another NCAA team out of the Big Ten. Rutgers had no business losing to St. Johns...and the refs screwed them over. Outside of a few teams the Big East is looking weak this year.

Brutal way to lose Cake walk of a lay up and dunk. Unbelievable. That video didn't even include the final three pointer they had either...tough shot, be he was wide open and it fell short.

No McVeigh? He needs to be on the floor more than he is right now. He can shoot the three ball and surprisingly has done well banging on the boards. He is not the fastest guy on the court but he appears to have good fundamentals on defense and should only get better.

Hopefully Miles reminds them of Icarnate Word....alot of new faces on this team but if you don't come to play you can lose on any given night. Hopefully we jump out to a big lead and continue to get some of the youngsters some quality PT.

Attitude issues maybe? I'm not sure...just throwing it out there...small sample size but I got to watchi him this summer and he acted like a punk the majority of the game.

+1. IMO this loss is much better than beating a Miss Valley St type team. Albeit we got spanked after the 15 minutes in, the team and youngsters are now battle tested and have plenty of things to work on. And as you said, alot of our mistakes were just brain farts that can be corrected. Like, forgetting how to pass the ball in bounds.

Have to wonder if maybe Evelyn's defensive skills just arent there yet. He had the injury over the summer/fall that may have put him behind a little. But, in just a few games I have seen he has more offensive potential than Tai has shown thru his career. Tai+Benny on the offensive end...getting 20+ minutes is just not a winning combination IMO.

Good day for the conference yesterday. Maryland with a comeback win over GTown and Sparty with a big win over KU.

I don't think it's a coaching issue, Tai just isn't very good. If anything it's a recruiting issue, going into his 4th season Miles should have a better option at that position. The good news, Anton Gill is in Lincoln and looks to be someone who will start and be productive right away.
