Sounds like Wiscy is getting involved with Diaco as well so it may come down to a bidding war. He would be a big time hire.

Bad news...Ed Morrow Jr. Sidelined
huskerbaseball13 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'm not ready to chalk it up as a L...but, by the numbers...winning @Mich is one of the least likely wins remaining on our schedule. With that said, I do agree we can beat Ohio State and Rutgers without him. Hopefully 17 days rest is enough time and he will be back on the floor to provide some minutes vs Purdue on 1/29. -

Off the top of my head I can't really think of another guard tandem in the league that have had as big of an impact. The only other guards that came to mind were Mcintosh and Lyndsey(spelling?) from NW. Obviously Koenig is very good at Wiscy but they don't really have much of a scorer at SG. -

So where does he fit in on next years team? Does this push Jacobsen to first off the bench? If everybody sticks around(minus Fuller)...man we will have a lot of options next year. Very hard to predict how the starting lineup will shake out.

Any idea as when he will be eligible to play?

ESPN RPI seems to be more kind to the Big Ten than Warren Nolan. I'd but curious to know as to which site is more accurate. Sorry for the ugly formatting..RPI numbers for Warren Nolan is under the "rank." NW is a very solid team. Tough loss, but no shame in losing to that group. Mich is nothing special this year...that's a game we can win on the road. If not, with what lies ahead the OSU and Rutgers games are must wins imo.

Palm has NU as one of the first four out. He has NW as an #8 seed. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology Lunardi has NU as one of the "next" four out. But, I believe this was before the Iowa win. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology -
That may be because Roby still seems a little lackadaisical on the court? This is a kid who flat out dominated in high school and probably is a little shell shock at this moment. IMO, he will still end up playing an important role for this season and even with some of the limited minutes and issues he's working thru you can see he oozes talent. It will all come together sooner or later. Maybe even this year.

6 out of the next 15 games sounds bad...and yet, that would put us at 9-9 overall. -

That cold walk to the car always feels MUCH better with a W. If you look at the box score he did not have a great shooting game but the emergence of Horne has been huge for this team. He also isn't as much of a defensive liability that some thought he would be. Hopefully Roby is alright...after the game Kent said Roby sat out due to a hip pointer? Hopefully that's the case and doesn't have anything to do with his offseason injury. -

Can't say for sure...but I'm guessing most bracket experts base their picks on the body of work YTD. If that's the case...KSU= RPI 60; SOS=213. Zero top 100 wins. Illinois= RPI 30; SOS= 14. Two top 50 wins and three top 100 wins. -

Pregame Discussion: Iowa (9-6) vs. Nebraska (8-6) - 1/05/17
huskerbaseball13 replied to 49r's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Cook is very solid, but IMO a good matchup for Morrow down low. What Iowa team will show up? I've watched them a few times this year. Some games they look like a contender. Other times they look like 13-14 win team. The Huskers have not played very well at home thus far. Not sure why...but we have looked more comfortable and have played better on the road. Hopefully Thursday night changes that. -
We were the last team to go 11-7 in conference and finish within the top 4. 12-6 or better seems to be the ideal number, but outside of Rutgers almost any Big Ten team can win on any given night. Going 11-7 again may get us in the top 4 this year. Outside of Wiscy and Purdue I think every other team is capable of losing 7+ games.

We should definitely be in the discussion right now considering where our RPI and SOS is. Obviously, that can change quickly if we slip up this week. I think it will be hard to keep us out if we can somehow find a way to 11 Big Ten wins.
