  1. Who doesn't like wild speculation!!! I think the team that Miles' would have fielded this year would have been better than Hoiberg's current team, which kind of goes without saying since Hoiberg had to put this team together in roughly a month. Not to mention he had to install his offense/defense with a new team as well. I think its possible we would have been sniffing a NIT berth with Miles this year but I really don't think the ceiling was much higher. I also hope and believe that Hoiberg's year 2 and especially year 3 team would be better than what Miles could have put together. I loved Tim and what he did here and will always remember his time well. I think you can appreciate what both coaches did or will do without drawing a hard line in the sand on Miles and his tenure here. Miles was exactly what the program needed when we hired him and Fred sure seems like exactly what we need to elevate the program from where Miles left it.
  2. Several two word phrasea can sum up this game: We sucked No energy Lazy defense Pathetic effort Drinking heavily
  3. Hopefully 2% which would be about the equivalent of our rebounding and defensive effort tonight
  4. It's the epitome of brutality (hat tip to Jon Rothstein for his overused line)
  5. That is Kavas trying to play defense. Haven't these refs scouted him?
  6. Well, that sequence was pathetic. Time for another drink and then another and then....well, you get the idea. At this point, please put the young kids in. Easley, Arop, Yvan...let's see if they can bring effort
  7. Yes and we have been awesome in overtime. Well...we should just outscore Rutgers by 3.5 points in one of these segments!
  8. I got my first drink after the 10th or 11th miss in a row and I feel like I personally helped break their shooting slump. I will keep drinking
  9. After giving up 6 points in the first 40 seconds, the defense has clamped down and only given up sux over the next sevwn minutes. Need to keep up the intensity!!!
  10. Holy smokes what a nice move by Cross. Can't wait to see him finish those in the years to come
  11. I think you are selling the blind man short
  12. When Nebraska was rolling down the stretch in 2014, Pitchford was such a vital part of the team's success. My memory is fuzzy now but it literally seemed like every game he would start the game off with a three from the top of the arc and set the tone. He was the most underrated player from the big 3 that season.
  13. Great effort on the defensive end today. Hopefully this carries forward and we can wreak some havoc in the BIG!
  14. It feels like 10 of his misses have been blocked at the rim!
  15. Happy to see Green with good energy and attitude. He's a nice player when his head is in the game and we need his production off the bench!
  16. Are you praying that the women's team shows up as well?
  17. Ok, thoroughly confused but I think Evan Bland is wrong as he states that Stevenson will be a redshirt sophomore next year? That can't possibly be right? In any event, I am happy to drink this koolaid during the season! https://www.omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/plus/three-husker-transfers-continue-phenomenal-behind-the-scenes-work-at/article_328034dc-db75-5a4a-b940-0ca88a1ae298.html
  18. Completely agree on all points. However, it will be interesting how/if the narrative changes over the next month. Our next 5 games: vs. North Dakota vs. Texas A&M CC vs. Rutgers vs. LoIowa @ Northwestern This is not exactly a murderers row of games and there is a conceivable path to get off to a waaaay better than expected start in conference play. I don't think we get a postseason invite either but the next 5 games could give me a bit more optimism.
  19. And to think that we were a few missed free throws down the stretch against Indiana from potentially being 2-0 in conference with 2 Quad 1 wins....which would be 2 more quad 1 wins than several bubble teams on selection Sunday. No, I'm not saying this is anything close to a bubble team but this team has shown they should be able to compete most nights against anyone in the BIG.....which is a far cry from where i thought this thing was heading after the first 20 minutes in Omaha!!!!!
  20. If this is the team I watch most nights, I will gladly only take a handful of conference wins this year because the foundation and culture is certainly being set. Proud of the effort and fight. GBR!
