Trying to grab tickets but looks like the site is possibly struggling with demand or all the scalpers trying to scoop them up!!! -
N.I.T.: Nebraska vs Butler
Nebrasketball1979 replied to Silverbacked1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Howdy...excited to see this team play at least one more time, especially if they continue to play with the heart and effort they did over the final week of the season. Question - does anyone know how/when/if the University is going to release tickets to the public? My son and I are going to fly in for the game and I'd love to get tickets sooner than later so we don't pay super high prices on 3rd party sites. Learned this lesson for the Cal St. Fullerton game!!! -
What are the chances that Moos or higher ups at Nebraska are working behind the scenes to make sure we aren't invited to the NIT? I know what Boehm said a few days ago but would it really shock anyone if the administration was working this angle? And honestly, that may just he best for all parties, especially Miles if they know they are firing him.

Gutless statement from Moos
Nebrasketball1979 replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Here is some irony. Assuming Miles coaches the team in the NIT and goes on a run, we could end the season with 22 wins by making it to MSG or 23 by winning the whole dang thing. Didn't Moos say he wanted to see consistency in the program before the season? I say the last statement tongue and cheek but I do wonder if Moos would prefer to not have those optics considering he also said it wasn't an NCAA or bust situation for Miles. -
That is an outstanding point and I do think we had behind the scenes discussions or feelers put into Dana's camp. I agree with what you said in a earlier post about Dana's agent might have just played the rumors well; however, I really don't think the extension happens right in the middle of the PAC 12 tournament unless there is at least a little bit of substance.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. In all honesty, it's pretty easy to ignore those interview requests. I mean, he could just ignore those requests much like the last two AD's have ignored the program the past two years. His statement really doesn't squash any speculation, if anything the non-statement statement shined a microscope on the program and has many talking heads in the hoops world bashing him and our athletic department on social media. Not exactly sure what that accomplished. In any event, if Miles is gone, and I do think he is, I really hope you are right about Fred.

If you need another example that getting hit in the head repeatedly is detrimental to your long term health, well, here you go. -
I posted this over on the post game thread as the debate was initially raging there: What I think is unfair is that if you know you are firing Miles, then just fire him sooner than later so he can find another gig, if he wants one, and before they all get filled in the coming weeks. I know that Miles is under contract and obligated to coach as required by his contract. However, if you are holding him just to buy time or let him finish the season in the NIT, that just seems like bad business. Fire him and name Lewis interim coach if Miles is gone regardless. Miles deserves better than this. He has been nothing but classy and has never done anything to embarrass the University...read between the lines on that one. This was so predictable of an administration that has given two shits about this team and coaching staff for the last couple seasons.

Great effort, fight, and spirit from this team. Three games of excellent game plans and coaching. Copeland's injury derailed the season but these kids fought like hell to try and salvage it. I believe they did salvage the NIT and hope they get to go play in MSG and bring home a title. if Tim is gone, we better damn well have a home run hire lined up because Tim has built a great foundation here and I hope he gets to see it through. Rome wasn't built in a day and apparently Nebrasketball can't be built in a 100 years but man, we feel close.

Nebraska (18-15) vs. Wisconsin (22-9) Game Thread

Another smart call from the bench for the foul there to get to the under 4 timeout. Kids are playing their hearts out and coaches are coaching their tails off. Super proud of this team, regardless of how last three minutes go. -

Like the timeout there...guys do look fatigued for the first time. Also get another at under 8. Smartly played there by Tim -

I think it's super important to get off to another fast start and play from ahead. With likely tired legs, we can't over exert energy trying to chip away at a double digit deficit. Thankfully, Wisconsin is a slow the pace down team as well so we just need to execute in our half court sets like we did against Maryland. Sprinkle in a massive amount of rebounding, hustle, and heart and we will be there at the end. Sounds easy enough to me! Also, one strategy I would impose today is using Justin Costello and his five fouls on Ethan Happ when Wisconsin is in the 1-1!!! Lets Hack-a- Happ very smartly today! -

I don't know...I like how he just knocked down that three heading into commercial. I'm thinking we might see him for limited minutes today. If he plays, we now have the Willis Reed angle that can be added to the 30 for 30.
