  1. I bet the language was cleaned up a bit for that practice!
  2. She makes a fair amount of outside shots. Shoots it better than people think from outside. If Emily played "the same way" it would work nothing like it does for B because Emily is WAY smaller. Not even a remotely apt comparison.
  3. I also wasn't a fan of the timeout with 6 seconds left on the shot clock, given where we were going to have to take it out of bounds. Would have gotten a better shot by just running late shot clock offense, and save the timeout. But, a good win, and I love those clutch foul shots by Nat.
  4. Huge game. A win wouldn't do much for our NCAA pedigree, but a loss against a team in the 140s RPI would be brutal. If that makes any sense.
  5. I agree, Norm. But doesn't it seem quiet on that front? No hearing much about a coach being out recruiting, etc. I realize it may look unseemly since we don't have any open ships currently, but if we're going to add anyone we need to get active now. Perhaps they are and are just more stealthy than normal. We've had a couple of threads during the year about big men. We don't tend to advertise our overrecruiting during the season (or in general) There is going to be plenty of action come this summer between guys looking for homes and transfers. We'll see what type of space we have. yeah, but last year there was a great deal of pub with the recruiting of Dickerson, among others, and coaches being out recruiting, etc. Perhaps we weren't technically "overrecruiting", but still, I would expect more to be out there this year. We may not tend to advertise the in-season recruiting, but in this day and age it usually gets out through social media or somewhere else if we have a coach in a gym.
  6. Speaking of jumping center, for Sunday I would start Moses, and just have him go up and bludgeon the living crap out of Adam Pokeberry. Then take him out to great applause.
  7. If we beat IU there, and both OSU and Minnesota at home, we're in without even winning a game in the Big 10 tournament. If we drop one of those, we're still in with a win in the tourney. I still think we'll get in, but the seed will be a problem. There will be some reward for scheduling the nonconference slate, to offset a relatively poor finish. 21 gets us in for sure; perhaps 20.

  9. yes. That was a killer move by Turgeon to bring in Dalonte, whether unseemly or not. Might have saved Turgeon's career.
  10. It sure looked to me like Kenya was saying "It's on me". Of course, he could have been covering for a player so that a personal foul wasn't assessed, but it did look like he was accepting responsibility.
  11. For a second Jimmy I thought you had gone from being a Red Sox fan to a Cubs fan.
  12. During the game I mentioned putting in Moses for a minute just to deal with Ms. Layman. Did anyone see that guy's silly dance before the starting lineup? He's my new Jason Sutherland.
  13. Nebraska Minnesota Illinois Iowa Rutgers Northwestern Maryland
  14. He might not play much the rest of the year. Miles mentioned 8 man rotation and he was guy number 9. We'll see. I think everyone is open to playing or sitting at this point. I would sit Pitchford more than Rivers. Loving Rivers like last year. Difference was last year he deserved it . No production this year. Flatlined tonight. 5 minutes, zeroes across the board on the stat sheet.
  15. Absolutely disgraceful first 35 minutes by the stripes tonight. We almost overcame it. I've been watching us get screwed for 40+ years and it as sucked the joy out of basketball for me. Recall us getting ass-raped by John Van Wuy against Missouri at home in '81 or '82? It just keeps happening. As Miles said tonight on his show: "I guess we have to learn how to not foul. And how to get fouled". Dripping with sarcasm.
  16. Just fired up a donation, Dimes. Thanks for taking care of this. HB
  17. Great news

  19. Wrong
  20. Well, you are to be commended for your efforts, Noah. All you can control is what you do, and you are a great fan.
  21. Good shot of Noah. But where is everyone else? Pretty sparse crowd for a Big 10 game.
  22. Actually, neither team fouled much, as neither team played much defense.
  23. We have a couple of decks of uno cards at Conlee's. Anyone not playing with a full deck at Conlee's?
  24. Iowa losing to the Gophers tonight really hurts Nebraska's chance to finish in the top 4 and get a double bye in the tournament. It was next to impossible to cheer for Iowa, but I had to under the circumstances. Although I feel a little dirty. Serious talent on the Gophers. Too bad for the coach that recruited it all, since she got whacked and won't get to experience the success from her efforts. Defense was optional tonight. Iowa has Elite 8 offensive talent. Lots of players who can make plays. But the lack of defense may well bite them in the NCAA tournament. There will be a night in a cavernous arena where the shots aren't falling, and they get knocked out of the tourney early. The Hawks just don't seem to buy into playing D. Either that, or they are just very limited. Zahui B is just ridiculous. 39 and 29. Not a typo. 39 and 29. With Banham back next year, and everyone else except Shae Kelly, Minnestota should be crazy good next year.
  25. Hohensee out already with an arm injury. MRI pending. Bad news this early; he was being counted on for significant innings.
