Creighton (5-1) vs. Nebraska (7-0) Game Thread
HB replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
What happened was they wilted after getting worked non-stop by Mac. Just a gutless effort by the stripes. It didn’t matter, as the Jays were better at every position and would have blown us out anyway, but still a sad display of cowardice. -
Actually, she needs to get more defensive minded. She got beat off the dribble like a bad child against Creighton. If this team is going to do anything, they will need to get better on the defensive end.

I remember that '84-'85 start well. Got all sorts of fired up. Finished 16-14, 5-9 in conference, 1-1 in NIT. -
2 games ago yes, yesterday not so much
-
And these # movements for Nebraska right now also have no bearing on Nebraska's season outlook.
-
23'-'24 stats meaningless at this time. Let's check again after we've played a few games against somebody.

No one dislikes Creighton more than me, but I have no problem at all with what Scheierman had to say. Hard to believe anyone could take that level of issue with it.

Would need to be a blowout. He would be end of rotation even for a "small" game. Hasn't been close to playing with the regular rotation guys. -

Prolly a Jaysker

No one mentioning Brice Williams, and I heard some really good things about him last spring. Seems like we have more depth than we've had in many years.

Gotta watch them play. I've seen all kinds of crazy conclusions over the years prior to watching them play in D1 games.

I don't have the time, or level of interest, to research and gauge what the other teams in the league did in all these respects. While your thoughts on who we lost, who we replaced them with, and who else we have make sense and seem pretty spot on, ultimately it will get sorted out not by how this roster compares to the last one, but how it compares to the other teams in the league. What are their additions and subtractions? Are our returning guys and FNGs (new guys) better compared to the portal transfers and recruits of the other guys? We could be a lot better and still not move up enough spots if the other teams still have better dudes than our dudes. Hopefully that isn't the case but hard to know at this point.

I don’t have any photos or videos but they are out there. I stayed for the whole concert. A vast majority of the fans stayed for the first 3-5 songs. Then there were steady departures, but at the end there were still thousands of fans present. Good concert. For a weeknight in Nebraska, a lot of fans stayed. Remember, in basketball, we have a lot of fans leave a tie game with 3 minutes left.

I've been attending Husker sporting events for 56 years and it was one of the best events ever. Extremely well done, both conceptually and execution-wise. Seems bizarre to criticize and focus on "miscalculations" right after such a stunning success for our state, university and athletic department.

Disappointed in the outcome, but it was a good game. We had our chances.
