  1. Ward Bond is from Benkelman.
  2. This I love...
  3. Cip, the Dungeon won't be the same without you. Good luck, and God bless!
  4. Watch the last couple minutes of regulation and you get a sense maybe of Nee's coaching, I'm afraid. Twice Lue hits a three pointer to get us to within one point, and both times someone intentionally fouls, when there was no need to. Watch the reaction of players like Lue and Cookie and Venson when we do. It's clear they are upset, and they look at the bench like, "why are we fouling??" Whether Nee told them to or not (in one case it appears that he did), there was clearly a lot of confusion and/or miscommunication going on, where at least some players thought they were supposed to foul. Very interesting to watch.
  5. Nebraska pulls out a thrilling win in OT, 74-69, in which Tyronn Lue literally wills his team to a victory at the end. Great win on the road against a good ISU team. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX6_w1WDcRs&feature=share&list=UUOOmYyd7A1W2cUl0ONSnjjQ
  6. Personally, I'd like to see what Miles would have been able to do with Standhardinger.
  7. I understand what you are saying, but I don't really agree with it. If NU ever wants to reach the top half of the conference and become a regular NCAA contender, then it is going to have to start landing some major prospects (and I'm not even certain I would call Sai a major prospect). I hate to break to you, but major prospects will ALWAYS have other quality options. Unless that prospect was born and raised in Nebraska--which is highly unlikely--then there is ALWAYS going to be a "home state" school and most likely, if that player is a major prospect, then that home state is also going to offer him. Or, as in this case, there may be multiple schools in the home state (ie, Arizone, ASU, etc), and maybe 1 or 2 of those home state schools will offer. Of, if it is not the home state, there are still going to almost ALWAYS be other more "prominent" schools with more tradition and NCAA wins, etc. At some point, this program must overcome those obstacles. That really is the only way to get this program where we want it to be. Losing Sai is not going to make or break this program or Coach Miles and I am not going to lose any sleep over it. But I will never understand that attitude of so many who seem to be happy (some almost giddy) simply because we are "competing" with other average BCS programs for a recruit. ASU is no UNC or KU. Yes, it was his home state, but as stated above, every player has a home state. If we succumb to that excuse every time, then we will never get a major recuit. At some point, what needs to be done must be done. It certainly won't be easy, but it is the only way. I'm not exactly sure what you're expecting people to say. I didn't see anything in his comment that I interpreted as being happy that we lost out on Tummala. Are we all supposed to go find a private place a punch a hole in the dry wall? That's going to accomplish a lot.
  8. Do you get the feeling this guy's having a lot of fun at our expense?
  9. He's a poet and he know it.
  10. I'm getting "refresh elbow."
  11. Bi-ig men. Are tough to FI-YI-YIND! THEY'RE TOUGH TO FIND!
  12. I'm sorry, I'm not understanding your analogy. Perhaps some visuals aids would be helpful.
  13. "Tis a far better thing I do. To give up my favorite parking spot, to wait in longer lines, so that my beloved team might one day be great."
  14. Man, 96 to 85 earlier in the year! That's a lot of offense.
  15. Definitely the tallest tree in the forest in these videos. Remind me a little of Dwight Howard (wonder how his free throw shooting is ?).
  16. The Lincoln Diocese is recognized nationally as one of the most orthodox diocese in the U. S. I’ve heard of Church officials in Rome, when asked what the best place is to go in the United States where the diocese is most in line with Roman Catholic teaching, and their first answer will be Lincoln, NE. I know the larger point here is that Nebraskans of all faiths are worshipping and going to church, more so than in a lot of other places in the country, and to him that is special. And so yes, it is encouraging to know that he at least recognizes that this is a special place, and hopefully is an important consideration when the subject of “job openings” comes up.
  17. Sai Tummala ‏@SaiTummala24 As much as I love the weeknd...not a fan of the outros 4:30 PM - 13 Apr 13 Sooo...."outros"?
  18. Pretty sure it is Omaha. Oops, my bad. Well, who cares if it's Omaha
  19. I love the state outline. I'm trying to decide if I like the colorization inside the 3 point area.
  20. Running sprints and stairs doesn't seem to match the seriousness of the offense to me. He committed a misdemeanor against the city of lincoln, and he broke team rules simultaneously. Therefore, he should do some community service, and should serve a minimal suspension (one or two games).
  21. This is what happens when you go away camping for the weekend. I never knew about this kid/play until now. Doggone it, now I have something stuck in my eye.
  22. Some of the matchups are interesting to watch. Derek Chandler for example kept Juwan Howard in check all game.
  23. I was a fan of the Fab Five and rooted for them their freshman year. So naturally when I learned we were going to play them I was really excited. Unfortunately it was never televised. There weren't 300 sports channels like there are today. Even though we lost, I still wanted to see how well we fared against them, so after the season was over I went to the Devaney Center and asked the basketball office for a copy, and they gave me one. Times were different then I guess. Can't see that happening now a days. I thought we hung with them pretty well, even got the lead early in the 2nd half. Too much talent there though, and I don't know how many offensive boards we gave up, but it was a ton.
  24. Random question, but related to non conference: Does the ACC/Big Ten Challenge cyle teams through so that evetually everybody plays everybody? Will we eventually get to play North Carolina, Duke, Syracuse, etc.?
