I don't know about the donation seats, but I have 300 sections seats, and it said the deposit goes toward the final cost of the tickets. In fact I think there are only 300 section seats left at this point.

I propose instead of retro-jersey night, that sometime we have a retro-socks night.

Nothing jumps out and wow's me about him, statistically anyway. But I'm hopeful he's a good fit and has an important role. This will be a good test of Miles and his staff in terms of talent evaluation, and ability to foresee upside and potential.

Thanks for posting. I was at this game and remember it well. Frustrating game. The Big Country/DC match-up they spotlighted at the beginning of the game turned out to be a good match-up. Both played well....Damn that Big Country was an ugly cuss.

Seems like a catch 22. The question is, what kind of person is Tim Miles? That's the trump card. Does he want to stick around long enough to build something substantial, or does he bolt the first chance he gets for a "better gig." What's a "better gig"? One that pays more? Minnesota? To answer you're question, I don't think it's ever a bad thing the we beat Ohio State. So many unknowns can become of it. One of them is maybe we get an even better coach than Tim Miles. Plus. I hate OSU, so that's good.

I think coaches need to recognize their level. Had Coach Sadler stayed at UTEP he might be on a run of consecutive NCAA bids. Sad truth is that recruits would rather be in El Paso than Lincoln at this point in time. And a coach trying to rebuild a program needs to be an ace recruiter (Tom Crean, Tom Izzo, John Calipari) which Doc did not bring to Nebraska. I understand the lure of the big conferences, but the appeal fades when you get fired. I hope he gets another shot at a C-USA level conference. Did you actually write this with a straight face? On one hand you state that Frank has been successful in Ohio and in the next paragraph you criticize Doc for his recruiting acumen while at Nebraska? Please show me where Frank has shown one ounce of recruiting acumen either at Nebraska or Ohio! And you seriously can't count Nebraska's left overs. Frank Solich recruited Mike Rozier, Irving Fryar, and Eric Crouch, to name a few. Not bad if you ask me.

I agree, I though Parker was going to look to score way more than he has this year. I admit I bought into his highlight reels. I know I shouldn't do that. But didn't he score close to 20 / game in high school?

Built What I've been saying for years. Speaking of "building" a program. I feel pretty confident that someday (in my lifetime) Nebraska basketball will put together a great team, make it to the NCAA tournament again, AND win a game or three (one could argue we had a great team in 91 and 94, but we lost in the first round). I also feel that If/when that happens, we'll enjoy a couple good years surrounding it, but then we'll probably relapse back to the bottom tier, NIT bubble team we've traditionally been. It's easier to put together one good team every now and then than to establish a solid winning basketball program. Despite that fact, it surely IS possible to build and SUSTAIN a winning program, even if it is a lot harder. I’ve tried to think of examples of teams who had a long history of losing before they built themselves into an elite program. I thought I heard that Coach K turned Duke into the program they are today, but before that they were nothing. What other programs have done this? Does it take a coach like Krzyzewski who not only is a good program builder, but one who is willing to stick around?

I parked where I would never have to worry about being stuck in a traffic jam on the way out of the fair grounds. I was willing to walk the extra blocks, and because of it I never felt the temptation to leave early. I parked at 19th and Holdrege. 19th actually dead-ends right before it intersects with Holdrege. Never a problem parking there, just walk over the bridge, across the tracks and up to the south entrance. This did become more or a problem when they built the overpass, and I ended up having to walk a little farther around on the pathway, but always liked that spot because again, no traffice conjestion once I reached my car.

Gotta admit, that's funny though.

I watched the game again this morning. Yep, he did. It was legit.

My first time at the Bob was 1983 or 84, against KU. We lost. I was awe-struck at how huge the place appeared to me. A lot of my fond memories at the Bob were of the boys and girls high school tournaments. In my high school days Pius X was in the tourney every year, boys and girls, and oh what fun we had. My college years at UNL were the early nineties, so those were the good old days. When I think of Nebraska basketball at the BDC, I picture Piatkowski with that sweet shot. I saw a lot of good teams and players have come through. Like a friend of mine would always say when I asked him if he wanted to go,"Why not? It's the best game in town." I remember the sounds. When Troy Glock double-banked in that three pointer to send the game into overtime against Pius, that was the loudest, longest sustained roar of the crowd I've ever heard. I remember Danny Nee always yelling, "Motion! Motion!" I remember the announcer, "Basket by Piiiiiiiiiiiatkowski! Piatkowski with the trey!" I remember being close enough sometimes to hear the players, and one time a player from San Francisco U. (of all places) passing it to his teamates yelling, "BUST THAT SH** G**DAMMIT!!" We all laughed. Now, I take my four boys to the games, and we have a great time. I think they love getting a pizza the most, but they enjoy watching the game too. Looking forward to starting new memories at PBA.
