  1. Agreed. Very dumb.
  2. Looks like we're about to lose Maurice Washington
  3. If we did decide to go with Otzelberger at least we can continue the trend of our coach having a great friendship with McDermott. (sarcasm)
  4. With PGs it’s hard for a coach to have you develop the “it” factor. We see it in a PG like Edwards. Great passer, great court vision, and above all, great confidence. Glynns inability to develop into a quality PG even after playing 4 years is more of a result of Glynn’s weak mental state than it is Miles coaching ability. I truly believe that if Xavier Johnson would’ve came here Glynn would’ve slowly developed into the 2 guard role and Xavier would’ve started by this time in the season. He has that “it” factor that can’t be taught by coaching.
  5. Oh ok I got what you're saying. My take is our fans are great because they show up in droves to sporting events. They're not greater personality-wise than any other fan base.
  6. I could be wrong, but I think this thread is more basketball oriented. It's a lot easier to label our fan base the best fans in the country for football because of the sell out streak.
  7. Ummm the ACC is absolutely better than the B1G these days. What do they have 5 national championships in the last 10 years? B1G hasn’t won a championship in 20 years. But you just said you weren’t admitting that the job here is better so I don’t really need to argue anymore.
  8. And all I’m saying is Wake still is a better job. We have a new arena and place to grab drinks after. Cool. Wake is located in a state that’s a hub for basketball talent with a tournament history. Yes the talented kids down in the Carolinas might think less of Wake compared to Duke and UNC, but at least they’ve heard of the team.
  9. But that analogy assumes we hold both to the same standard, which we obviously don’t. No I’m obviously not ok with F’s but do you honestly think the majority of this fan base will really be calling for Moos’s head if this team still doesn’t win a tourney game 5+ years from now if the football team is getting to B1G championships and beyond?
  10. I'm not talking actual investment, but more of investment in a personal sense. Our athletic department doesn't seem to care as much about basketball. This isn't anything new. It's been like this forever. Whoever Moos hires for basketball he'll never feel the heat for it if that coach under performs as long as Frost is winning.
  11. Our athletic department is not as invested in basketball as other teams in the B1G. This is just a known fact. The location of Wake Forest alone being that close to high-level recruits would intrigue any coach over coming here. I don't think what I'm saying is anything earth shattering. Nebraska is easily one of the Top 5 hardest jobs in the Power 5 based on historical data. Chris Basnett said as much yesterday in his interview on The Ticket.
  12. The rosy red glasses of some of our fans is pretty ridiculous. Wake Forest is a worse job than Nebraska? You're not serious? Fertile recruiting ground, prominent former players in the NBA, and they might not have much recent success but their history of tourney appearances alone looks a hell of a lot better than here. Plus they're in the ACC and have an athletic department that just straight up cares more about basketball.
  13. I'll give you credit, you are easily the most optimistic Nebrasketball fan I have ever come across. This team is in a complete downward spiral, and you're talking about getting the pleasure of a chance of an extra Quad 1 win in the first round of the B1G tourney simply because we've played like crap in the regular season. And what "good non-con"? Turns out all the teams we beat aren't even NCAA tourney teams. Our non-con strength of schedule based on the NET team sheets is ranked #237. That is awful.
  14. I believe our fans are considered the greatest because of the consistent sheer numbers we bring to sporting events. In reality tho, our fan base is the same personality-wise as everyone else. Majority good, some overly gracious, some overly sensitive. If we're going to say we're the greatest fans because we're the "nicest", it's simply just not true.
  15. These are all solid/realistic options. I would love the Travis DeCuire hire
  16. Ben Jacobson has done great things with Northern Iowa, but if we want to be more offensive minded, he's probably one of the last guys we should be looking at.
  17. In complete honestly he has done a fantastic job with Drake so far. But not only will he not leave Drake for a while, but he pretty much hates this university.
  18. I originally favored Johnny Dawkins out of UCF, another former Duke associate head coach, but his track record at Stanford and UCF is pretty bland (minus his one Sweet 16 run with the Cardinal and the great year he's having this year). There's just something about having a young coach like Scheyer that a lot of people still remember from those Duke teams in the late 2000's that intrigues me.
  19. Wojo is in fact a dream. He's got a team in a fertile recruiting area with a new arena and an established bball history. You're not leaving that for this. I am, however, on the assistant from Duke train. I want Jon Scheyer. Take a young, energetic coach that's learned from the best for 4 years and let him build something. Plus his recruiting connections in the Carolina's of the world.
  20. So high and mighty HB
  21. Hard to rally when one of your best players is gone. You can have the heart and want-to but just lack the talent to do so. Happened with Creighton the past 2 years as my friends are consistently reminding me currently.
  22. Not to mention the complete embarrassment our program would look like nationally if the coach that finally was able to win us a tourney game was fired immediately after.
  23. NBA on the brain...which isn't happening. Sadly he doesn't realize that and it's hurting this team.
  24. Indiana looks like complete ass
