Nebraska (15-13) vs. Michigan (24-4) Game Thread

Currently on my 3rd Kinkaider Snow Beast. What’s everyone drinkin? -
And the Copeland injury. I don't care how we were trending before his injury, we would be dancing if he was still playing. That's not on Miles. Coach K has seven or eight 5-stars on his bench, yet Duke still is struggling without Zion. Just goes to show what one injury to a prominent player can do to an entire team. And if Moos would've just given an actual extension last year we'd still have Kenya and have Xavier Johnson starting right now with Glynn at the 2 and Allen coming off the bench. And think about the lone year we had with AW3. If Petteway's mom wasn't suffering a critical illness he comes back, which in turn I believe makes Pitchford come back, and they're playing alongside an improved Shields and Tai, and a solid guard in AW3. That is one hell of a lineup. Miles has to be better, and has had ample time to do so, but it's definitely not 100% on him.

It doesn't matter so much where he ends up so much as it depends if he's drafted or not. Nowadays you can still get drafted in the second round and get a solid 3-year contract. If he for sure knows he'll get drafted even in the second round then you gotta go, but if NBA scouts are unsure then he should stay.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the new rules any player can enter the draft and not have any penalty if they're not drafted correct? But if you are drafted you can't just say "no thanks" and not take the deal?

I'll admit that I don't hate Creighton as much as others on this board, mostly just because of having close friends that went there. I just totally disagree with the sentiment we can do A LOT BETTER than a coach like McDermott. They're at the very least consistently in the tournament. They haven't done much when they're there, but I feel like making the tournament once every 2-3 years is a goal for programs in the Midwest like ours to strive for, then when you get there anything can happen. But I'm assuming by the way you're talking that you're just banking on becoming Kansas after this new hire?
-
The coach that beat us 7 years in a row, before this year, and who was actually offered a job at Ohio State, you couldn't pass on fast enough? Please tell me you're exaggerating? Of course McDermott isn't coming here and of course we're even considering, but who do you think we are to think that this program is too good to pass on a coach like that?
-
I agree with 3 million or maybe a little more. It just depends on the hire. Back burner was harsh, as I was more just comparing the sport in relation to the focus on football. My take on this is we had a hard enough time getting Frost to come here, but we think just throwing money at a coach when the circumstances are even more against us when it comes to the basketball program will work.

I’m still not even convinced Roby is going to get drafted.

Nebraska (15-11) vs. Penn State (9-16) Game Thread

Who on here was still sayin this is a tourney team? I’d....disagree -
Like I said in another thread, it's the NET ranking that's keeping us on the brink. They're going to have to adjust something in the algorithm next year, because it puts way too much weight on win differential no matter who the team is you beat. If that didn't exist, we'd be pretty much done already with our awful RPI and non-con SOS.
-
I'm pretty sure that was tongue-in-cheek haha
-
Nebraska's best team
-
And the fact the NET loves us. If teams are smart next year they'll just schedule crap teams and kick the snot out of them, because apparently that's all you have to do to stay in the good graces of this ranking system.

This is so awesome. Congrats!!

Seems like a pretty weak statement. So we're supposed to believe they didn't follow up when officials in Cali wanted to interview him about a prior incident? What?
