  1. might be the biggest jump in one game I've ever made. From (near) worst to (near) first. Groovy.
  2. yeah, that one's an oops.
  3. this conference might break the record for most teams in the postseason from one league. really no dogs in the B1G this season.
  4. @dimes. using firefox. and I get retweet copies in most other boards but this one.
  5. so this is already another creighton thread? that didn't take long.
  6. no idea what you're putting above your sig line, but I can never see them. are they twitter reposts?
  7. I'm okay with him redshirting if he's not strong enough to make a difference in the paint, which is where we need him this season. Our two functional bigs have to hold down the fort, which is I think why Miles spent time addressing Walter's desperate need for some paint play which he addressed in the postgame presser. It's looking like we're going to go only as far as our guards can take us anyway, so this is probably for the best down the road.
  8. I'm good with this report card. I only saw the last 9 minutes out in the second half, but Petteway looked like the only guy who had a running motor at that point, and trying to score points when your teammates are doing the zombie shuffle is fine by me. We probably would have had a longish drought in there somewhere if it wasn't for Petteway. 9 rebounds from your guard, too, telling me he was a hustling fool. that said, he still only hit at 25% taking the most shots, and that's not good, so I can see why people are cringing a little here.
  9. man, that's going to be an interesting traffic jam at guard. can't wait to see how the minutes shake out.
  10. solid game except for the last ten. gotta stay focused, but that happens with young teams.
  11. human victory cigar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. really? team's been pretty flat since the 9 minute mark, and petteway's one of the only players playing with any energy.
  13. sure, but they're not as good as that team. we can go 9-10 deep with this squad, which is pretty unusual for us. I completely agree. With the seniors on that team, there's no way this team comes close. But, IIRC, that team was picked to finish either last or next to last in the Big 8. I really like this team. me, too. guard heavy as hell, but a pretty talented bunch by our standards. I can finally see the rest of the game now that BTN decided to actually show the game online. if and when we get a couple of bigs with some skill, we'll be tough for a few years.
  14. sure, but they're not as good as that team. we can go 9-10 deep with this squad, which is pretty unusual for us.
  15. someone needs to post the Clash's Clampdown video for this game. I'm too lazy to learn how to do it on this fairly new system.
  16. even Rocky had a montage.
  17. no stats either on the equally poopy Huskers.com
  18. hour delay on the BTN poop site, so it's radio. I'm really learning how to hate BTN.
  19. they did. 25 fouls against UMass. Not much bench play from them according to the box.
  20. what's the foul count in that game for UMass?
  21. nice! and that reminds me to adjust my prediction back to the old days.
  22. I was surprised by the readiness of the newcomers, although I suppose I shouldn't have been. Tai's maturity as a player blew me away. You don't see that from freshmen very often. Basically, the smaller players were a delight to see. The bigs are more concerning. Ubel's presence will definitely be missed. I think interior play is going to be our achilles heel this season, but everything else looks as good or better than I thought.
  23. It's only one game, but the 3 people who probably need to see the court the most right now are shavon, terran, and tai. I'd add to that probably Pitchford/Smith (in some combo, depending on what we need from the big for a particular matchup) and then one other player depending on if we go small or a bit bigger. so probably between David or Rey. what a nice problem to have!
  24. I don't like his game. He's a high-volume shooter on a team that has multiple weapons and no need for a guy who needs 25 shots to score 25.So unless his game has changed, I'd rather have a role player in there (Rivers), or a drive and dish guy (Biggs), than Gallegos. And I'd rather have Shields, Pritch, and Webster getting buckets, with Petteway just making plays like he does. You can bring Gallegos off the bench when some of those scorers are on the bench and give him free range to chuck up shots. Also... I know there's more to this story about him being suspended and Tyrance leaving also. It really makes me question his character, leadership, and intelligence. None of us have any idea how Gallegos is going to play with this kind of team. He was a high volume shooter because he *had* to be last season, and I'd prefer we thank him for that effort instead of criticizing him. He was doing what he was told to do. He's still the most experienced shooting guard we have by far, and though streaky, a quality player who's earned his spurs. Every team we played last season planned around Gallegos, and that should be a clue as to his real value. Let's just let the coaching staff shake this one out.
